Hahaha! The ice cube/cotton ball is actually part of my home's alarm system. Detects breaking glass and sends messages to my cell phone and the police department simultaneously. (Though that would probably suck if I were hiding in my house and the cell's ring gave my position away to the home invaders! Literally just now considered that! Lol!)

Maybe I am in the pic, but I'm just that stealthy? (Hey, I did take Ninjutsu for several years. You never know!)

Stephen, those bonus pics of Bixby and Maya on that awesome stand are fantastic! Eclectus, both male and female are pure eye candy and you have a stunning example!

My youngest son would absolutely drool over your cabinet of blades! He's also a collector of swords. When did you start collecting and which is your favorite?

Thank you, Allee! Funny enough, I don't think pics truly capture Bixby's magnetism. When we'd first decided to get an eclectus, our initial request had been for a female. But the store called us by when they'd received 2 male babies... "just to see". Lol! Very slick! Well, we fell pretty hard for Bixby and his brother. In fact, we were leaning toward his brother, at first. He was just as fastidious a preener as Lady Maya is, now, and his plumage was even brighter and more colorful than Bixby's!

But there's just something charming about Bixby's spirit, combined with that perpetually mussed look his plumage has due to his less than expert preening, that just won us over.

Maya, though? VERY photogenic. Lol!

I've been collecting blades for years, now. My favorites in general are katanas, but my personal favorite out of the blades I currently own is my matte black khukri blade.

Here is a pic since it isn't in that curio.


Yes, I'm ready for my walk on role in The Walking Dead! Lol! (Speaking of which, I would LOVE Michonne's katana!)

I know what you mean about the scruffy look. Zeke always looks mussed no matter what, it's kind of endearing.

Exquisite blade you have there! Michonne's katana LOOKS amazing but the one she uses on the set is probably a plastic prop, no way she could wield that much weight and swing it at zombies like that. She probably has the real one in her own collection.

And thank you! I've always loved that blade, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality for close-quarters combat.

I'm not sure I'd bet against Michonne's ability to wield that katana in the way she does. Have you seen her arms? That woman has some serious guns! Lol!
