Maya was extremely forgiving, Wendy. I was able to pet her and everything by the time we got to the car!

It took her considerably longer to get her feathers back into place. Hahaha! You could tell she was less than amused by that, too! Spent a good portion of the ride home fixing her "mussed" plumage. You could almost hear her saying, "Oh no they DIDN'T just mess up my hair!" Hahaha!

Glad to hear the visit went well, other than her fit of rage (can't blame her though- I'd be peeved too if someone messed up my hair and outfit [emoji6]) Hopefully you get the test results soon and she can officially meet Bixby!

Stephen, I'm sorry about poor Maya's unexpected encounter with Mr. Towel! I'm still grinning at your description of Maya's extreme displeasure. Love the photo of Maya on your wife's arm, probably telling her Mom about her harrowing experience.

Hahaha i agree with what everyone else has said regarding Mayas Towel Troubles looks like she's sulking to her Mummy about how horrid it was and how it messed up her beautiful plumage so she had to redo it all! So unfair!!!

She is gorgeous!!! *goes all squishy* Her eyes are so trusting and prettiful!

Yes, she was definitely playing up the sympathy card! But she deserved every moment of pampering that she got.

And best believe I will be posting any pics of her and Bixby almost as soon as I take them! Lol!

Thank you, Liana! And you are so right about her having to redo her plumage! I'm fascinated by how fastidious she is about her preening ritual! I guess I was used to Bixby's "ho-hum" approach. Hahaha!

And I'm sure she was telling the story to her mom, knowing she'd relate to the experience far better than I could. "They messed up the plumage, Mom! The plumage!!! You just don't mess with the 'do!" Lol!

I was pretty much expecting it to be a nonsense word you'd made up in place of any expletives that might have escaped Maya's normally demure beak, but I just HAD to look it up just in case. Kinda compulsive that way. Lol!

Interaction update! Unfortunately I wasn't home to see this one, but my wife tells me that Bixby and Maya have begun comparing notes on words and sounds they've learned! Hahaha!

So Bixby does his laugh and then Maya does hers. And then Maya says hello and Bixby follows suit.

Apparently they carried on this back and forth for quite some time, learning from each other and enjoying their conversation from across the house!

It really hurt to miss that set of exchanges, but I'm so glad they seem to be bonding!

That is EXACTLY what it feels like, Terry! (Not as bad as when my first born caught a ball for the first time with his MOMMY while I was at work, but the feelings aren't totally dissimilar. Lol!) Maybe we need to invest in a nanny cam!

Oh believe me, Julie, I've certainly been trying to imagine it. But some of the details were so precious that my imagination is most likely falling far short of the reality! Smh. For instance, Maya can say "hello" in at least three different tones of voice. One silky and feminine, one deeper and more masculine, and one in this gravelly Wolverine voice. So, when Bixby threw his single, more neutrally toned hello out there, Maya used first her masculine version, (which is the closest to Bixby's, though definitely deeper.) and then proceeded to repeat her more feminine version, as though trying to teach Bixby a different way of saying it! Wow!

What I have experienced since, though, is the two of these clowns laughing in tandem with one another! Lol! Oh, that is an absolute riot! And their laughter is so contagious! It invariably has us cracking up and joining in, which, of course, spurs them on even more! Hahaha!

Oh, and unfortunately, there is no veterinary update as of yet. I called last night (I'm sure I'm getting on these poor people's last nerve! Haha!) but no joy.

But rest assured you'll all know very soon after I do!

THE RESULTS ARE IN!!!! Maya tested negative for avian bornavirus, and her routine bloodtest results were all good! Whoo-hoo!!!!!
