I gave Harley a string of Mardi Gras beads to keep him busy. But then I got to thinking that it might not be a good idea. Could the stuff used to make those color beads cause him harm?

He's having so much fun playing with them, but I'll take them right away if you think they could be harmful.

I just had to look those up because I've only ever seen them in pictures and on TV. Looking at the description, I'd be very careful giving them to your baby because they look pretty small and super shiny.

Do you know what they are made of by any chance?

Here's an idea for you: Duplos/Big lego pieces can make fun bird toys. :)

They look like shiny colored plastic beads. He's running his tongue over each bead, up and down. None have been broken.

If ONLY we hadn't gotten rid of all our Lego stuff. Thanks for the tip for a great bird toy, Jersey Wendy. So far all the toys you've already recommended have been big hits!

I removed the strand. He wasn't very happy with me, but oh well.
