- Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(
And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
Like I have mentioned earlier, I never had a 'teil, but after reading posts and seeing pictures of the sweeties on this awesome forum,I really wanted one more as a "friend" for Amy.
I googled breeders in CT and found an awesome place about an hour away.
After visiting the place and looking at all the birds and chatting with the owners, I found out they have been in business 38 years, every bird, except the 'keets, are born and hand fed/ raised there. Greys,'Too's,Macs,'Teils,Electus,Conures..ALOT of birds they have!
He had four grey 'teils that were ready for homes that day..the others, cinnimons and the others would be ready in a week.
Todd showed me all four greys and all of 'em were friendly, readily steeping up,and I could just scoop 'em up in my hands lol.
I guess we choosed each other . I never thought of being owned by one,but this little guy is remarkable and Amy loves him just as much as I do.

What a cute story. Yeah I really want to be able to let my bird pick me too. This breeder only have one baby left so I could not pick the right one I would just get what I get. Glad to here you and your birdie friend are happy with the new baby. How fun.
Amy also picked me. When I went looking for a Blue Front, I saw a guy who had a HUGE aviary. There must have been 15 or more BF's in there, all about the same age <14 to 15 weeks old>. The guy even told me.."take your time! walk around the enclosure, watch the birds, see which one<s> follow YOU around..listen to them vocalize" So I walked around, stopped, talked to a few. Some completely ignored me. Others were more interested in playing with each other..but the one who would end up as Amy,just kept on following me around and around. She would walk on the floor,or climb around the bars, climb over other BF's lol just to watch me. And when I stopped to say HI to her,she stopped and listened.
The "breeder" even said "that's the one you want"! So I sat in a chair, and he opened up the front door and put his hand in,and she hopped right on. I extended my hand, and she came right to me,mumbling in baby 'zon talk.
I talked very softly to her and I could see her listening to me,and her beaky was moving like she was talking back lol. I crossed my legs and put her on it. The breeder said "go ahead, scratch her head" As soon as I moved my finger to her head, she rested her beak on my leg and closed her eyes and I skritched away..That was almost 27 years ago..yup...she picked me alright and we have an awesome relationship.
