Loki Made it through the NIGHT ~~!

Im so happy !!!! STRESSED and sleepy but i will sleep when he comes home !! with him ! in his cage ! LOL

I just talked to the vet and they said he made it throught the night and that he was still under from the second round but they was getting ready to wake him up, but everything went FINE !!! they got all the infection out of his crop and him tummy ! WOOOOT the test will be sent off for PDD will will not know for a few weeks, BUT with the new CT scans and xrays, and blood work and liver scans they do not see signs where he is failing like he would be if he had PDD. SO they think he just had relaps of infection. BAD infection and really bad GAS to go with it.

Loki will suffer with Gas for ever they said just like some humans has asid reflix he will have intestinal gas in his little tummy, that is why he is SOOOO picky on what he eats cause it hurts his tummy, so i will have to be extra careful no to upset him. Which for a cockatoo could be hard LOL

BUT the Doctor said after i left last night he did not do well AT ALL ! he was restless and moody and upset. so they dont think he will do very well if he stays there any amount of time, and they are suggestion he comes hom ASAP. SO im going to get him ! I just PRAY he dont pick at his stiches.

I need to get a Bullet to i can puree all his food to. bleending it will be enough for right now, he cant have chunky.

So happy to hear they don't think he has PDD after all! What a brave boy Loki is. I bet he will be SO happy to be home. They do not do well when they are sick and away from "the flock". Wishing Loki a speedy recovery and a negative test for the PDD.

Well I sit here waiting at the hospital to be released ..... Not looking so good Loki is refusing to eat or drink anything ! He can not go home till he will eat and drink ... They even tried baby food ! Nope he spit it out ... Water spit that too ! If he don't eat or drink I will just get a hotel again and he will have to stay and be placed back in intensive care . I sure hope he starts eating .. We have tried all his fav thing . Even human foods too, that he maybe shouldn't really have but likes lol nothing ! They are starting to think maybe they missed something .....

I will pray that he will eat something so that he can come home. I think being in his own environment with people he loves will be the best medicine. Hope he gets better soon!

Jenphilly is right on with that thought....maybe when he sees you and settles down some, then he will relax and want to eat.

Well after many hours of trying, I am still here at the hospital Loki is just here with me is a small room where we have been for the last 6 hours or so lol he has a buffet that I might start eating here soon ! But he I think just feels so rotten he don't want to eat even for his mom. They let me try baby food I brought from home, his yogart berries which she loves ! And I thought he was going to eat it but as soon as he took a bit he gaged and dropped it on the table. So I am going to just stay here in this room with him all night. They gave us some blankets and a couple chairs and he will sleep on my chest. They are going to start an I v fluids I think too.

That's so great that they're letting you stay there with him! Having you near will certainly help him towards healing.
