I have small dogs so I always buy pee pads. Because I always keep them on hand, I place one under the birds cages for when they're sitting there. They are a bit pricey, but since I buy them anyway, it cuts down on the mess. Mine really aren't food throwers so I guess I got lucky lol

Naw it's really not. I got overwhelmed too and then just said that's it! After all they're using it to sleep and eat. The rest of the time, they're out and about. It'll work out, trust me lol. Maybe I'm a bad Mommy, but mine are perfectly happy including my new rescue (who should love ANYTHING coming from living in a parakeet cage). Good luck babe

Actually that Petco Cockatiel cage doesn't look half bad if the wire is substantial enough.
