Great choice... I mean, there wasn't a less-than-fabulous photo in the bunch!
Patches, you're a prince. A picnicking prince. A priceless picnicking prince.
Thanks for this, Saxdude.
Thank you! And, well... He did picnic with the Queen for this. Yes, my two year old granddaughter was in on it [emoji7]

Thank you, Mr. Plummer, dear. Now that's what I call a picnic. Go for it Birdie, go for it!

Good glory, the Dutch really know how to pancake! That thing looks heavenly.

Birdie's favorite meal is breakfast because she likes everything on offer. Eggs, toast, cantaloupe, pancakes, French toast, waffles, grits, etc. Truth be told, Birdie likes everything I like and then some!

That thing makes the pancakes I usually have look completely inadequate. It's like an American pancake on steroids. Are you the cook? If so, you're invited to our house. Bring pancakes. Not to hijack the thread too much, but would you care to share your recipe? What do you put on that thing...................butter? syrup? the kitchen sink?

@rival
Recipe seems not that hard: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEjwhVgzULA"]Beth's Dutch Baby Pancake Recipe | ENTERTAINING WITH BETH - YouTube[/ame]
But indeed, impressive... I'm used to fry the pancakes on the pan, but this baby needs to be baked.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH, Aratingettar...
He's the cook in our family... I am SO gonna show him that!

Dziękuję Ci!

Dear Rival of the Rickeybird,

I did not realize that you were oppressed as I am. I do 99.9999% of the cooking in this insane asylum. And 99.99% of the dish washing.

I am so distraught at your oppression. At least my family has to put up with the birds but you sir are my hero as you put up with THE RICKEY BIRD and still perform you domestic duties!

My hat and more are off to you Sir Rival. (don't ask what else I took off in your honor):D:D

BTW Gail.

Sending recipes to the cook is bad form. You can gently suggest but anything more is IMHO extremely bad form.

Especially if the cook deals with Mr. T. R. Bird on a daily basis!

Now on the other hand my family puts up with me(no small feat), puts up with my love of animals(to extremes in most cases) and I still have a roof over my head and a full crop. As do my animal friends. GB my wife and son.

This post is useless without pics !

LOL to the max.

LOL, nice name- never saw something like that before in my life!
(unless its an omelette)

Pancakes in NL (on average) look more like:
https://www.ninofmedia.tv/media/k2/items/cache/e34f0e1c02fdcca3c7fab2bae7fa299d_L.jpg
(and that is a stack of them! You only eat about 1-4 with powdered sugar, sirop or jam on top or apple, cheese or bacon baked in it-- it's not a breakfast-thing, more like lunch or dinner. Favorite with kids.)

NO sugar is added to the batter at all (that is typically american I think- chuck sugar into everything, even bread *shivers*)

=

Sorry Gila, my birds are not cooperating (yet), maybe next month ...

Thanks, Christa. Yum.

'Tis amazing what can be learned in a POTM Contest. The communing of the menfolk, for example. Yes, I do the shopping, cooking, cleaning, maintenance and lawncare. Why? Because I like for it to get done. I have always been the domestic type. The missus? She cleans, feeds, and oversees the Bird's room, and paints pet portraits, and entertains her strange friends and family. And, she will say, provides the joy and sunlight to my world, which of course, is....................

true.

I submit, as an informal Just For Fun, my newly renovated avatar, which took me all day (between cleaning and cooking) to finish.

I'm probably in Dutch (lol) for derailing my wife's POTM.

Peace, Rival out.

Grinnn, I just adore you guys (m/f) and your hard work!

All my friends are better cooks than I am - one of the many things I cherish about them.
(I really don't like cooking, let me paint your ceiling/walls anytime- just keep me away from the kichen! So glad making chop is not anything from the high-cuisine/ though some people can actually make it look like it is! )

Dear Tired and Rival,

Welcome to the land of the oppressed! A place where I've been residing for many years hahaha. Mostly just the result of our work schedules, but it's life as we know it.

Once again, thanks to this forum, I'm in good company here! [emoji3]
