Hi our gcc loves bathing. Freaks out whenever she hears running water. Washing dishes? She get excited. Taking a shower? A bath? ANYTHING? She excited. She want IN. She likes water. A LOT.

Almost every time I give her fresh water, she bathes. I'm glad she enjoys it so much and once in a while when I'm in the mood to be soaked with bird water, I'll lean on our kitchen sink with arms extended and hands cupped near the water trickle. SHE GOES CRAZY and loves it. LOVES IT. She ends up soaking the entire room though. And me. I would get an outdoor bird bath in a heart beat if it weren't for hawks. Indoor bird bath ideas anyone? She's violently happy in water and tends to spray it everywhere which is fine but my furniture...

She doesn't feel safe in the sink or tub which I get. They're deep and scary. But a nice open thingy would be perfect for her. However, I don't want to have a gross shower curtain set up that will possibly make her nervous. Does she enjoy showering with my husband? Yup. I ain't doing it. I do a lot for that bird but I won't be running hot water and/or getting my hair soaked with bird water everyday.

My conures are the same way.Crazy about water. This is not a recommendation or a solution ,its just what i do. I put a dish/plate on the bottom of the sink and run a stream or water from the faucet. They splash around in there but i still get wet when they jump out.

My budgies love water, too! I use my kitchen sink but raise the "bathtub" to about 6 inches below the faucet spray. I have a 10 inch deep kitchen sink and I take three 8 inch tall, 3 inch diameter drinking bottles and set them in my sink. On top of that I place a 10 inch round, 2 inch deep, plastic houseplant drip dish (the bird bathtub) and turn on the kitchen faucet to spray lukewarm water. My budgies fly over and take a group bath in the saucer with the sprayer running. I place a large bath towel on the floor in front of the sink to catch the splashed water.
Or you can buy a child's toy battery operated kitchen sink (Amazon, $30). Full it with water, place it on a bath towel and turn on the toy faucet- its perfect for a small parrot to bathe in.

I have one of those. The faucet quit working soon after o bought it. They dont care as long as theres water.

I thought about buying a new one with a working faucet but theres really no need as theyre happy with the way it is plus they get the sink treatment too.

Oh man that little basin looks brilliant. The towel is a smart but LORD the whole room with get splattered. I might just let her ruin the walls idk. Thank you for the feedback, I think I'll try it!

Thank you all for the ideas. Very much appreciated.

UPDATE! Ok you lovely peeps, Today is day 2.

I've gone with JjEjFjF's idea ❤️ and set up a towel on my bed which they are familiar with; we got a ggc and budgie. They get along well. I placed a shallow dinner plate with some water, sprinkled a little bird food nearby and added a toy (an apron with a metal clasp that jingles lol).

The budgie is typical shy but she's warming up to the "bird bath" slowly. They're both not touching it but I'm taking my time. Just chillin' in my chair in the corner and not staring at them so they can walk around and destroy my bed comforter (they've already been allowed to do this so whatever).

I think it's gonna take time but I'm feeling confident and really happy for the idea. Eventually I hope they get comfortable with it and enjoy it everyday. Thanks again for the feedback you guys.

Try flicking your finger in the water. That usually gets a conure curious.

My budgies are most excited by moving water. Some won't bathe unless it's moving and others don't care as much.
You could buy a very small plug in aquarium pump and put it in water about 2 inches deep. It would create the ripples for you. You can buy a 50 gph mini submersible pump on Amazon for $7.

Done! I was like, "man i need to make sure they realize this is water and not just a plate" lol great suggestion!

I DOES seem like both of the birds prefer it moving! I'll look into the amazon thing because $7 sounds like my kind of budget. thank you for this suggestion!!!!!

Have you seen some of the birdie showers available on line. The one I've seen looks like weak plastic. So I'm reluctant to try it. Considering similar because my CAG insists on using her water bottle for bathing.

It's really nice that you make such an effort to make your green cheek happy considering how much the noise makes you crazy. It says a lot about what a nice person you are.
