I got bit by a ...

Oh yeah they are beautiful, We don't see them here very often at all. :( Think of all the stores we've been too, I've only seen maybe 2 or 3 and thats over years and years. :(

I love hawkheads. Don't see them enough. They had one here once in a pet store and he cost $7000. He sold pretty quickly too, I think.

Tex you should get some pictures next time your at that store.

There's a breeder in ontario that breeds them. She charges 3,000$ for one. :D

I've already looked into it a few months back!!! :D

LOL ya, i really want to get a blue crowned conure from there, but my mom doesn't like the whole shipping idea. :( She thinks i'll pay 800$ for the bird and then when it arrives in vancouver it will be dead or something.

There's only one breeder here in BC that breeds them and they take FOREVER to reply to your emails.I'll try again next summer maybe. Right now im focusing on a senegal. :DDD

It also has Americans,....nuff said.

I hear that there is this cream, that if you you rub it all over yourself, the American's will leave you alone ... but really, that aren't all bad ... I mean c'mon, not all of them agree with their political leadership!

Maybe next time you can get bit by a B&G

Been there, done that ... not nearly as impressive, you can go almost anywhere and get bit by a B&G ... I am talkin' about a Hawkhead here ... you don't see them, ever! That, combined with the fact that I was interacting with one closely enough to get bit, is what made this whole experience just so cool! :D

Agree with ya there, getting bit by a bird that you don't see very often is awesome,

When I went to Bird World last year I was standing so close to a Hy and actually touching his chest, I was so awe struck didn't see that he was actually getting ready to poop all down my shirt. But hey I was pooped on by a HY. :D

so cool, but - ewwww - but so frerakin' cool!

Oh yeah, I couldn't even get grossed out by it, because it was a HY, I was so proud of that. :D

(I know how very strange I am, but it was a HY)

on friday I got bit my a grey it bled and everything he put his head down for a scratch and then bit me :)

Oh yeah you gotta watch them crafty little devils, Once you get to know the particular birds body language, you can usually tell when you are gonna get bitten by them. :D

* UPDATE *
So, I went to get "the boy's" nails clipped today and I was talking to Concetta and she told me that the family that originally wanted the Hawkhead MAY BE thinking about going back on the deal ... ... She also told me that all of the monies paid on the bird would NOT be refunded to these people and that if they decided to not get him and I wanted it I could have him (DNA sexed as a male) for the balance that they owed on him ...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Now, YES, I would jump at that opportunity, but it's a lot of money (she's selling him for $2600, and they have paid AT LEAST 20% on him, we didn't really talk numbers) and Christy and I just aren't in a good place right now to take in another bird, because if we were Iggy would be coming to live with us before we bought a new bird.

Hey, Peta ... $2600 for a Hawkhead .... really that's only £1300 minus the monies already paid ... whadda ya think? :D – Sorry Andi!

:D Oh Tex I really think you should consider it, we need a hawkhead parront!!! :D

Ok, Tracy, if you can start a "Tex and Christy need a Hawkhead" fund and get the $2000 together, and you can persuade Christy AND you can persuade our landlord to let us have one more ... THEN we can have a Hawkhead on this forum! :D

God speed to you on these challenges!

I predict there is a Hawkhead in your futures Christy and Tex! ... just a hunch. :D

oh tex you won't even notice a third bird :) 1 bird to two is a big jump but after that it's no big deal :):):) I got Sidney and just a month later got Daisy- Sidney says GO FOR IT

Seriously ... it's a lot of money that we don't have right now ... there is no way that we can do that right now ... besides, I am already worried about the noise with Ham, we can't add another one right now -- as much as I would love to be able to be owned by one of these buggas ...

The monies and the landlord NO PROBLEM

Christy now thats a whole different story. :D

Oh boy if that kinda opportunity came up here I'd be on it in a shot. :D (Andi's just bought a new car, so it'd be easy to talk him into it right now) :D I tell ya I even use the plastic on this purchase. Just shown Andi a hawkhead, guess what he wants one. Oh to be living in the US right now.

yeah, but you know your own self-imposed rule ... you have to have two of everything so that means, you'd have to have two hawkheads!
