At a bird store! and let me tell you, there's already 2 birds I wanna take home.

Theis store breeds conures, lovebirds, cockatiels, budgies, and finches but they also will special order babies and hand raise them for people. They also take in birds that have been surrendered for whatever reason.

This is Prada and she's a white front Amazon. She is so sweet. She will run at you saying "hello" and just bow her head for scratches. I really want to take her home with me.

This is Rico and he is super sweet but is a tad touch phobic, not as much as Lincoln but that might just be because he's itchy. He came from a home that didn't give him a very good diet so as you can see he had a pretty severe allergic reaction. Co-workers say he's gotten a lot better though and use to be completely bald on his body. I want to take him home with me too.

This is Ollie, he's a military macaw. He's a cutie but an a**hole. He will bow his head for scratches and you'll give him a few but then he will turn on you like a cat. He will also "clap" with you. it's super cute.

Tutti (umbrella cockatoo) and Frutti (blue and gold macaw) are super sweet babies. They're only a few months old. The macaw is still on 2 feedings I think while the cockatoo is on 1. I think Frutti has a few screws loose as she is just very strange. She will frequently just caw and flap her wings.. like all the time. She's very VERY clumsy too. The cockatoo is super super tolerant considering she's constantly getting hit by Frutti, and never reacts! They're both super good babies though.

This is Juju. He's a mollucan cockatoo and he's a sweet bully. He's been adopted but returned a few times because he wants to be top bird and requires some tough love for the first few months otherwise he's rather bitey and no one has been able to get past that phase. Otherwise he's super sweet and is content as ever just shoving his head into your hand and tearing up paper.

A baby sun conure. He was SO friendly and would just hop out of the baby play pen onto your hand and enjoy himself. I ALMOST put a deposit on him but he's already been claimed xD

oh! I wasn't sure between military and severe. I don't know my macaws very well xD

you folks out there in the Americas have no concept of just how envious I am of you all, being able to have stores like this where you can truly get to know these sweet babies

You will...

What an awesome job, I am sooo jealous!!! I wish there were bird stores in my area. Love the pics! I would want to take all of them home too...

Congratulations on your new job! It is so great to find a job that you will enjoy.
I can totally see why you want to bring Rico home, bless his heart.

How exciting!

Somehow I think anyone interested in either "Tutti" or "Frutti" is going to end up with a 2 pack. Look at how those babies are fluffed into each other! If I were in another position in life, Ollie is beautiful. Military macaws are my favorite macaw and I already have one cantankerous parrot so he'd fit in well here. If only I had space and money!

That is so cool. I've never seen most of those birds in person. Wish we had a pet store like that here. Non of the larger birds are ever in stores here. Timneh was surrendered/sold to my local pet store. And we only have one rescue in the area and its just a family who takes them into their home. So jealous. Congratulations on the new job.

It was sheer luck that I got it honestly. I joined a Facebook group that was for people selling birds or bird supplies in Colorado and the day after I joined the owners posted an ad that they were hiring. it was meant to be!

I got Salty at a similar type store - only sold birds. Congrats on the job. Will they let you take Lincoln in with you sometimes?

Yes, I will have to fill out boarding paperwork even though he isn't being boarded just so if someone comes in like "why is this bird here" they have that paperwork. Gonna wait until I have more of a feel for how things work there though. And I know they keep their bird's healthy so I'm not worried about Lincoln getting sick.

Congratulations on your cool job! I too would want to take home every bird!!!!!!!!

I love the photos, especially the one of the U2 and B&G together. Congrats on the job! Must get bird fever being around all the birds...!

Wow, I wish there was a bird shop anywhere near me, but the closest one I've found is in the Philly area, and then there are a bunch throughout New Jersey...all I have are Petco and PetSmart :(

Congrats on the new job! Trust me, it gets very difficult to not want to bring every one of them home with you. It took me a good year of volunteering at the Avian/Reptile Rescue to get over that "fever", lol.

Yeah at least the perk of this I still get to interact with them and love on them. only problem is I will cry of they ever get adopted xD but I will be happy for them too of course

The Queen of Paranoia must speak!

If you can resist it, I'd not take Lincoln in, especially if there's a high turnover of birds... all those scary infections, aggressive birds, and stuff out there.

But congratulations on the job! I am thrilled for you. They're lucky to get you, Owlie!
