Sweepee smells awful. Her smell, combined with the lotion and the virgin coconut oil I put on her scabs is a bit nauseating, but since that's what needs to be on her, I'll deal with the smell. I hope that one day she'll smell like Clover (my Quaker Bi-Polar Princess).
She/He slashed again 4 days ago and I think it's because I failed to run the humidifier over night. Maybe her scab bothers her when it shrinks and she tears it off. Our love at first sight has turned into her "flee at first sight", because I'm the bad bad woman who puts the lotion on her legs. I've got to pay someone to take over that procedure or she will hate me forever.
She doesn't eat anything other than Nutriberries. Is anyone familiar with this food? She will RIP them out of my hand. Her cage aggression has gotten worse and my hands bear testimony to it. I'm trying to convert her to pellets, fruit, and veggies, but so far it's a no go.
She's sprouting some new feathers on the plucked wing areas and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I doubt she'll ever grow anything on her chest and belly.
Clover: the princess of hell is growing feathers too, but as usual - her right side is plucked like a baby's butt. She is growing some feathers on her neck, which was always bare. I am hoping she will leave them alone and I'm doing everything possible not to tick her off.
Some noticeable differences between Clover and Pea: Pea doesn't "quake" the way Clover does. It's easy to read Clover's mood. If she puffs up and quakes, she wants to be left alone (by whoever she's quaking for). Her mood swings are phenomenal. For the last 2 days she's quaked and lunged at everyone but me, however experience has shown that her disposition is like the weather in Missouri: if you don't like it today, wait until tomorrow.
When Pea is upset (if you touch any toy, any part of her cage, her food bowl, her gym, or anything that remotely can be laid claim on), she gets slimmer rather than puffy, she'll turn into the rubber parrot that holds on to his perch and propells herself in whatever direction needed to place a nice juicy bite into exposed flesh.
While Clover flies around and is a pest to get away from (smile), Pea only steps up when she flies out of her cage and lands "somewhere" she's not yet familiar with (the floor). Once on the hand though, she is a frozen statue. Will not nip, not bite, not explore, not make any sound.
So much for the first 2 weeks with Pea. I don't think "she" is a she at all. Everything about "her" screams I AM A MALE.
