Help! Wing Flipping

Pellets needs to be removed from his diet all together! Instead you can feed some seeds, the smaller seeds, to his diet. In small portions (Half a tablespoon daily) of course as his main diet should be the fresh food. The site Birdman posted is a really good site that I use myself. Have you try to feed some pomegranates to his diet? Since it's the season for it right now, they LOVE that stuff!!!!

Yes I've tried pomegranates! he really loved them! so much that he went through the entire veggie dish searching for them and wouldn't eat the veggies until all pomegranates were gone haha. So I've had to limit them.
He's slowly had less and less pellets. Tomorrow is going to be the first day without any at all. It was hard to cut them out sooner because he loved them so much! I just really don't like the idea of the pellets.

I'm considering getting the Volkman's Fruit and Nut mix has anyone tried it?

I would only use that in minor feeding or just a treat. Not for constant use.

Are you located in Southern California? There is a super vet in Woodland Hills! Knows everything about ekkies! Saved my birds life because of his ekkie knowledge.

I'm in San Francisco. The vet I went to was nice and knowledgeable about birds, but it wasn't specific to Eclectus parrots.

If you're in the bay area, and I realize it's a bit of a haul, but not too bad, Dr. Speers clinic - The Medical Center For Birds is really THE medical center for birds... One of the best, if not THE BEST bird vet centers in the country!

I agree. It's a minor portion of their diet, like seeds for amazons. 10% or so... Eckies just do soooo much better on fresh. They are so diet sensitive that to me, it just isn't worth it.
