Help please!! Amazon took flight outside

Yes, they've already said one of us can go up with him so I think that will help tremendously!!!
Sounds promising. A family member that is close to Soda would be the safest choice in a successful approach with a lift bucket. He may fly off with a stranger.

A lift-bucket seems more promising than a firetruck. A firetruck may chase Soda away. Meisha goes to work with me on a regular bases. Tractor-trailer rigs and a an occasional firetruck are common in our travels to and from work. Meisha loathes both.

Buckets can be noisy. Consider talking to Soda constantly on your way up over the noise. Consider having a treat available to entice him in the transition to you. Water will be impractical in leu of vibration and bucket movement. Recommend having it available when you land.

Recommend securing Soda on the transition to the ground as the bucket movement will have a startle factor. One option is to trap the claws to your hand with your fingers and thumb. I use the method with great success on a regular basis. Note, your balance in the bucket will be an issue with the movement.

My husband sat at the top of our ladder for a few hours and Soda finally decided to start working his way down slowly. Took him hours to do it but he was really brave!! So proud of them both.

Tons of nap time and a short distance between water, food, nap time!

Highly recommend a visit in the very near future to Soda's Avian Medical Professional! The stress of the last several days could have opened Soda up to a illness.

Excellent. That eliminated the hole scare factor that Soda would have endured with the lift-bucket.

Congrats for the success, a real win for your family.

Oh thank goodness for that!! This is awesome news to wake up to here in Aussie-land :D Welcome home Soda!!

I'm so happy to hear this good news!!

Stunningly great news, congratulations! Reunification happens but sadly too rare. This will be a good confidence builder for future members in similar predicament.

I am SOOOOOO happy for you all ! Having had 2 parrots fly off ( one was an escape and he was recovered, the other thru sheer stupidity) I know exactly all the emotions you have been thru. 'Boats advice about a vet visit is excellent, Soda should be thoroughly checked out.

LOL when you gonna get another parrot ( named Scotch) ?

Hey Charlie33,

Any chance we get a glimpse of that independent adventurer, Soda? A mug, action or flighted shot of some kind?

Would like to put face with the adventure.

Ugh .. emotional rollercoaster for sure! Sheer stupidity on my part but I'm not a fan of making mistakes twice so a lesson has been learned. Soda has an appt. with his Avian vet for check up to ensure all is well but he is definitely back to his spunky little self! We've got our hands full with him so only the drinkable Scotch for now ha! :)

Of course! Now I've never attached pics in the forum before so not sure if this is going to work but I've tried to attach 2 .. one of Soda sleeping and another of happy to be home Soda and my emotional husband.
