Heating blanket around cage for winter?

Hello guys hope u have a good day, its nearly winter time and temperatures are dropping and im trying to find a solution for my cockatiels, cz temperatures are low in winter in my country (15c degrees daytime and night time like 8c sometimes 4c) i was using heater with 2000w of consumption and i had it on day and night to keep 20-25c inside the room but its too expensive, so i was wondering if its okay to cover the cage with a heating blanket, for sure i will make it optimal so they don’t chew the blanket or cables etc. any ideas are welcome thanks for your time

We use that one too. Much better choice then a elec blanket.

and also to keep the birds warm, they love those birdie heaters that go inside the cage. they love to cuddle against it, and it's not that expensive overall. this is the one i use. (sorry a rather long link)

You can also get heated perches and cage heaters. I use cage heaters for my old birds. They appreciate the extra warmth and are often on the perch or next to the heater. Some of mine have been afraid of the heated perches. Birds!

The heated perches can fail as an open circuit and overheat.

The heated panel fails as a closed circuit which results in their shutdown..

I recommend that you use a towel over the cage to limit air flow as part of the heat panel. They also work well to limit normal cool to cold air drafts into the cage.

My full winter heating provisions for Salty: once temps go into the 50's at nite, I turn on a flat panel reptile heater, under the papers in his cage. Gets warm, not hot. once it gets into the low 40;s i turn on the flat bird heater, its right next to Salty's sleeping spot. And he gets covered at nite all year round.
