Just a heads up (as someone coming out on the other side of it)- 12 y/o and a male is prime time for raging hormones not yet on a annual schedule If he periodically gets nasty just have patience. He will mellow out within a few years and so long as you don't give up on him, he will be a better bird for it.

To say I'm thrilled is an understatement! He won't come out of his cage now without clambering up onto my shoulder, cooing like a pigeon! If anything, he's suckier than ever before. He forgoes treats, if he can get up on Dad instead.

Yeah... uummm... all I can say to that one is JUST ONE ZON?!

I have three, plus two macaws that want to be with me 24/7... So, all I can say is, welcome to the club!

As I said before, with a zon, it's all about getting them over the hump. Once you've made it, you get this. And, unfortunately, the occasional lack of privacy that comes with it...
