Took Baby to the Vet to today.. one of the problems she keeps losing feathers around her legs.. Vet took a poop Sample that Baby so graciously provided in the waiting area , thats getting sent in. I hate taking her to the vet because the only way she can handle the bird is throw a towel over her and hold her by the neck and lower face.. The vet has birds and is recommended of the avian vets around here. But Baby makes a horrid noise that brings tears to my fiance's eyes and gets me a little upset as well. ANYWAY!
she told us to start bathing her daily and use this "gentaspray topical spray" we did some research and found a story where a girl has been prescribed this and 3 days later her bird was dead.. needless to say Not using that crap !

Has anyone else ever used this stuff was that just one horror story ? :blue1:

I am a little confused as to why this spray antibiotic would be prescribed. I could understand if your bird had a bacterial skin infection. If used correctly i very much doubt if the medication would actually kill a bird unless of course there was an allergic reaction.

Maybe a second opinion would be in order.

Did the Vet tell you what was the cause of the loss of feathers?
