confused

OK so I have being reading a facts page on the blue fronted amazon and most of the info stated is correct then when I look at the life span it says 20-60 years as when I have read the blue fronted amazon wiki on Google its says 60-80 years now witch one should I believe i think the Google wiki is the best one for facts as I reaserch all my animals on there before I buy them but any help on this would be great as I am baffled by this.

I often consult google but take note to read up to date articles from them.. Also, try hopping around forums like this.. im planning to buy my next bestfriend and trying to read alot of stuff here..

I took the "life expectancy" for granted. Lost my BFA only after 9 years of owning her. However, she was a rescue bird, so did I know her true age? No... she was not banded either.

I made sure she was fed a pelleted diet, and tried my best to keep her weight in check, annual vet visits, ect. When she developed that huge cyst, I was desperate to know what could cause such a thing. The Vet told me that cyst are one of those medical mysteries.... that can just happen without any warning, rhyme or reason. She assured me that it was nothing I did wrong; but it still bothers me. :/

So my bird could have been 9 years old, or older.. but will never really know. This could also be part of the problem in determining life expectancy.

I would have a rescue bird but the only downfall about having them is that you don't know the age of them but other than that I would try to encourage more people to home a rescue bird
