10 days is the normal course. No you have little control with how much meds they are receiving with that method. I'd check for a home nubilizer. You can plumb it up to a cardboard box or plastic container , your vet should be able to tell you how much to mix with sterile saline,. we use 15 ml of 3% saline with 3ml of baytril. We don't use all at once but about 5 minutes x 6 times aday. Oral we use 0.03 cc for a 400 gram bird once aday, followed with water and a treat (it's bitter) I'm not a vet and you should consult one, i'm just giving you this info so you can be better informed with talking to your AV. IMO you should go with the oral if you can handle your bird and nubilize if it's an issue . Some of that also depends on the area infected, in your case maybe nubilizing might be a better choice for respiratory infections.
