Sunny is doing great thanks for asking. Hes definitely not as nervous as he was at first. Last night we brought him to the room to get him used to different areas of the house.
Thats a huge Java tree !! I saw this neat set up [I cant do I have too many birds] .This person had macaws. What they did was have wood connectors that went from cage to the playstand. They could even get on the couch .Just a thought I know, it might encourage them to take over your house. LOL
His colors are really coming along. I don't recall who mentioned to wait till he molts to see what color the stripes on his face end up. They were right the coloration is changing from orange to black. Ill keep shooting shots of him. Today he met the new addition to the fam. Ill post a few new pics.
Thanks PinkBirdy I try to socialize him now that he is young. Hopefully hell be close to everyone when he grows up. I carry him near my Harlequin and B & G but out of reach The pair screams for him when I take him upstairs as my wife insists on torturing him with Law & Order LOL.
With all these pets I have to keep the wife happy. I cant sing like Bruno Mars LOL. How does molting work exactly? My other macaws never lost a overabundance of feathers before.
When Harlow molts she looks like hell! lots of feathers on the bottom of the cage and pin feathers [its kind of disturbing ] It can last awhile ,but they look great when their done. Lots of baths help
Molting is just the process of dropping old feathers and bringing in new(pin feathers). It looks to me like yes she is molting as most of mine are to, it there time of year it seems
