Cage size and Diet?

Thanks Every one. If I don't come by any Alexandrines, Galah's are my 2nd choice. Just a question... how do cockies and galahs get beak and feather?
Cheers, Mike.
I guess I should look in the appropriate section...

We have a 1 year old alex and I think my next parrot would be a galah. I'd really love a major mitchells cockatoo but all cockys are too noisy for me

Hybrid alex / ringneck parrots are really hard to come by in Australia. I'm sure you won't end up with one. They generally don't hybridize them much over here, from what I've seen. Most breeders are pure breeding Alex's for their bigger size and they stick to ringnecks for colours

A bit strange to hear that, as I was under the impression that there are a lot of hybrids... although, I'm glad to hear otherwise!

I do know of two breeders that are breeding alexandrine mutations through hybridization, and I'm sure I've run across at least one or two other...

Yes there is hybred Alex/IRN being bred. They did that to in order to produce the Lutino Alex & then the blue. However any bird that was not to be used in the breeding program where culled by responsible breeders.

BradGC is right in saying there isn't many hybreds for sale here in OZ. First cross with a alex/IRN is very easy to identify.

Thanks 4 the link :)

Yea if you're looking for specialist breeders, they are out there, but on a general basis you won't find them easily, i usually look on this site which has dozens of different birds for sale, and im pretty sure less than 1% are hybrids Birds for Sale : Australian Pet Link Classifieds
Also if you didn't know, if you hold down Ctrl F you can type in what your looking for instead of scrolling through all the ads ;)

There are so many Alex's for sale in QLD but not SA!
Would freighting one here be to stressful for the bird?
Mike.
