The Rickeybird, 40-year-old Patagonian Conure
I just HAVE to put this out there for y'all.
LeaKP created and added a word to the Forums Lexicon while contributing to the Rickeybird Scrapbook. I love it.
Submitted for your consideration.
Luv ya, Lea.

Buttfeather
Verb
Performed by a perching parrot, the act of turning the back and hoisting the tail, thus exposing the nether-feathers in a display of defiance, mockery, or mischief.
Buttfeather, buttfeathers, buttfeathering, buttfeathered
"The bird would often buttfeather his owner when feeling ignored."
Synonym: "moon" (slang, obsolete)
Illustration (using the now obsolete term "mooning")

Poet's are known to wallow in sentences by floating two sometimes more words as a means of tossing a miss-leading bone to those not in the club; i.e. the unwashed!

Parrot owners are known to find specific descriptions in jointing words to better define the actions of their feathered friends for two purposes: One, the seemingly thin (weak) want to protect children from offensive language and secondly, to cement the claim that Bird People just crazy when they seemingly break into Roaring Out Loud Laughter! :D:18:

Well done LeaKP!! That's a Three Feather Honor if ever there was one!!!

Thank you for clarifying, now there will be no mistaking the intent when we are
buttfeathered by our little darlings! I've often thought they were telling me, "talk to the butt."

I'm very proud of us for stepping up and document8ng these things for future generations... or our sanity hearings, whichever, or both.
I am proud to have a picture of my protégé in the dictionary... sad that it's BUTT FEATHERING. Too bad it wasn't for ADORABLE... oh wait, that's Salty!

I must add I've never been honored in such a way. Indeed it is humbling to know that I have been noticed for my verbal talent. :-D

Lea...

Greatness has been recognized.

Buttfeathering has been iconized.

I hope I will be forgiven for a bit of redundancy if I update the original Buttfeather thread with just a few recent posts from the Rickeybird Scrapbook, as I understand that there are some well-advised individuals who wisely avoid that Scrapbook thread altogether.

Speaking of WRONG...

I feel duty-bound to touch on butt-feathering every now and then... it is such an important concept.
The Rickeybird buttfeathered me again, just now.

Okay, what we have here with this Grey is an unprecedented variant on regular buttfeathering, and I for one am stunned. This bird can't be bothered even to stand while delivering the insult. He lies on his back in a disturbing display of disregard and disrespect. Astonishing!

And now the buttfeather boon formation. This is a complex verb/noun integration describing the express purpose of the double insult of a boon buttfeather or buttfeather boon. Formations can be singular or circular. Singular formations requiring a single flyover buttfeather booning for common offenses. If one is unfortunate enough to have offended enough for the circular formation, continuous buttfeather booning will occur until the flock feels the offender has received adequate punishment that’s fit for the offense.

It's the parrot's way of saying...

"YOU'VE BEEN SERVED!"

Nigel simply states "talk to the buttfeather." #noshame

Oh please tell me he ACTUALLY says this [emoji1787]

I caught Bella in an undignified position so I thought I would add it to the Buttfeather thread.

Now THAT's Buttfeathering, folks, that's BUTTFEATHERING!

this is all I can think of lol!! *there is a tiny bit of cussing in this song---some innuendos...obviously lol*
ALSO- the lyrics shown in the video below are NOT totally correct, but the original video had a few too many "wiggles" for the parrot forum ;)

"you got a great future behind you" LOL
