Welcome. I understand wanting to adopt to have the company. I did the very same thing about 6 years ago when we got Piccolo (a.k.a. Pickle). My husband is often gone for weeks at a time for work and my daughter is grown and out of the house. I have to say that Piccolo has brought so much joy, and made such a difference. Hello. I suggest contacting local vets, especially avian or exotic vets. Mine occasionally has knowledge of birds, reptiles and other exotics that are in need of a home. The good benefit is that health history is known.
