Bumble and I have arrived at our new home! We're in Virginia and will be staying with my sister and her family for a couple of months while we get settled/oriented.

She sat carefully wedged in the back of my car while we drove clear across the country with barely a complaint! We spent two nights in North Dakota with family and she was unbelievably good with 5 of my cousin's kids-let them all hold her and did tricks while she was perched on their fingers, and not a single chomp. I was so proud! Although I had to work to convince all the kids that parrots aren't really great pets for youngsters. Thankfully, the parents aren't interested in adding anything else to care for!

She's a tired girl today and has been snoozing a lot. I have to remind myself that she's had a long week too and needs a little rest and it's not likely that she's ill (although I will watch her closely!).

Well I guess I haven't updated this thread in a hot minute!

Bumble and I are now all settled in to our own apartment in Arlington, VA. I mostly work from home and we have a pretty good daily routine which she knows well (I swear she's reading the clock!) and if I vary too much, she lets me know

And this seems impossible, but tomorrow is her 5th Gotcha Day. I still remember the car ride home that first day! I took a bestie with me (it was a long drive to the breeder) and on the way home we turned on the radio and Bummy chirped along.

Over the years she's become more and more my littlest bestie. And also my Stockholm Sydrome Inducing Tormentor! She's so funny and silly and sweet and smart. I never get tired of playing the silly games she makes up.

She is one of the best decisions I've ever made.
