[emoji23][emoji23] they are the smallest parrots in captivity. At least physically.

Do you know the smallest parrot species of the world? :) Buff faced pygmy parrot is only 8 cm (about 3,4 in) and 10-15 gramms!

LOL 1 Sunny = 40,3 Bumble's

?? so if 31 grams has ALL the personality... what makes up the rest of the 1250?? ;)

You probably could hear me laugh all the way across the ocean! Nice one Jim!

So we will do some parrot mathmatics. Let a = weight of unladen parrotlet, b = weight of air column at sea level, c = angle of the dangle .

0.317a ~ c(b÷cost of feeding)×pet potential/pi = 1.9001 kgf/cm or 1 Bumble

Note: pet potential is sliding scale from 1-10 with 10 being perfect, ideal pet (ie: a rock) and 1 being horrible, biting, poop machine (ie: Salty).

Glad to see a Bumble update. She’s so cute!! I’m curious as to how often you make new chop. Am I the only one who makes chop every day instead of in large batches??

Maybe! The last batch I made lasted about 12 weeks. I made it right before my back surgery and did a little bit bigger batch because I didn’t want to fuss with it.

It would be really difficult for me to make chop daily. She is an only bird so it would be a lot of waste, and I don’t have time. I have an hour commute each way to my full time job, so my time at home is better spent with her than cooking. I do add different fresh things to it every day so she gets variety.

Same here Inger. I make like 3 months of chop and freeze them all. We add some Avi-cake and some fresh veggie , for dinner meal. Every 3-4 days Salty will have either just squash or some yam for his dinner. Each batch of chop is totally different and is based on different ingredients. So far we been lucky.

Did you see that we have a new parrotlet owner on the forum?

Ok makes sense. I just thought that thawed frozen chop might lose some of its nutrition, and it wouldn’t be as appealing to the birds as it isn’t “fresh” anymore.

Oh the cuteness indeed. Mathematics? All I know is that whatever scale Bumble is at one end of, my wife's Bird is at the other end. lol Good one, Rival!!!!!
