A Very Happy First Year Bumbles!!!

I echo 'Boats sentiment Inger. Not only has Bumble enriched your life, she has done so for us all, thanks to you. Happy Homing day Bumble !

Inger....I agree totally with Al and Steven ;) It is a joy in reading about you and your daughter, and of course, little Bum!
Such a tiny little princess that brings a bunch of happiness to you and your kin,and all that get to read about her :D

It seems impossible, but today marks one year since Bumble came home. We celebrated with extra skritches (so many pinnies in that little head) and a new ring toss (thanks for the link, Sunnyclover!). And I am patting myself on the back for making the brilliant decision to add her to my life. What a great little friend she is.

I was looking at the pictures from her first day home and I’d forgotten how pink her beak was! Go back to the first post of this thread if you want to see the difference. Nothing as extreme and beaks that start black and get light or vice versa, but still noticeable.

Here she is looking sassy with her (maybe too big) ring toss.

You're welcome and Bumble is double welcome! I hope she enjoys it as much as my green monster does.

Aw, sweet Bumble. A year has passed already since she was the “possible bird”??! Definitely a decision worth patting yourself on the back for!

Right? Good old “possible bird/future bird” has been “real bird” for a year! Haha!

Mr. Boats, Al, and Jim - you guys are all too kind. I’m glad you get some enjoyment from her. [emoji170] I feel so fortunate to have stumbled in here. I’m a wayyyy better parront because I’ve learned so much, and I love the community.

Oh and she wants me to ask her cousins the Amazons if she can go to law school now that she’s a big girl [emoji6]

I told her, and she started to load up her backpack and head off, but I had to inform her that I can’t live without her and she’ll need to do online courses.

This month’s Squawk Box was full of toys with bells. Bumble has an opinion. [emoji23][emoji23]

Right? Hahahahaha! She definitely has feelings, but they are a little unclear. She feels this way about certain crinkly bags too-which I understand is a parrotlet trait.

I guess you'll find out when it is in her cage if she is always yelling at it or if she plays with it a lot. Weirdly, Ollie has a toy that we call his "girlfriend", not because he is sexual towards it but because he's always yelling at her and bossing her around and gets in fights with her. Also, the first thing he does when he gets into his cage is go check her out and chews on her and he uaies her for comfort big he got in trouble or especially right after a shower. Lol.

Bumble is our little Disney Princess.

I just can't make up my mind about which one she needs to dress like. Cinderella? Snow White? Aurora?

Bumble has a toy like that. She yells at it, slams it around, and then she sleeps on it like a little weirdo. I have no idea how this is comfortable - she’s basically doing the splits.

I’m pretty sure she’s actually the cute little blue bird that I think appears in all of them. I don’t know why she hasn’t started making my clothes though! Haha that reminds me - this picture of her with my daughter. Perfect Snow White ❤️

Well Bumble is home with Daddy and I’m on my way to Oklahoma. My 39 year old cousin had a heart attack on Tuesday, and we’re burying him tomorrow.

My boyfriend will take care of her. He lives about 5 minutes away so he’ll go over first thing in the morning and then back after work for playtime. He’ll stick around for a little while after she goes to bed, and Friday night he’ll come stay and hang out with her on Saturday. I’m sure they’ll be fine, but of course I’ll worry. I thought about bringing her, but I can’t imagine my aunt’s reaction if I plopped a bird cage down in the dining room at the best of times; it would be too much to ask when she’s just lost her son.

I told her I was leaving, when I would be back, and that we’d Skype before I settled her in last night. Before I left I lifted her cage cover to say one more goodbye and found her dangling by one foot from her favorite toy. Little clown! I didn’t hear her move, so I have no idea how long she was like that, but it gave me a good laugh before I left.

Sorry for your loss Inger.

I'm sure Bumble will understand, after a few days back.
