My Budgie (M) Ginger (5 years old) and my Cockatiel (M) Sari ( 1 1/2 years old) have been together since I got Sari at 1 month old. They are inseparable to this day. There was no aggression till 2 weeks when Ginger was trying to get onto Sari and Sari was not having any of it. They still were feeding one another but the problem became more frequent with it happening every day. I've been thinking of separating them , but I don't want them to go into depression or plucking as of that. Should I separate them or not?

You can try increasing the sleep hours of your budgie. 12 hours uninterrupted sleep is optimal, but you can increase it to 14 hours. Hopefully, that'll help tone down the hormones.

Also, your birds are adorable ❤️

Thanks I'll try that.
