So, I'd like to get peoples opinions on something I haven't really seen discussed before. This is mostly directed at those who have birds in their bedrooms with them, either because that's where their cage is, or they come in at night to sleep or what have you.

How do you feel about "intimacy" around your birds? Do you simply keep them covered up? Do you take them to another room beforehand? Do you ever have the concern that they might start mimicking particular sounds?

I know this can be a bit of a riskay subject for open debate, so definitely trying to keep the discussion as appropriate for all ages as possible, but it's something I've kind of had in the back of my mind. Intimacy is natural, your birds mimicking intimate sounds in front of the in-laws when they come over for dinner on the other hand, could be rather mortifying.

So, what changes (if any) do you make to try and avoid letting your love life interfere with your fids good manners?

PS. Lets try not to get *to* detailed with any stories shared, just to avoid accidentally offending anyone (and we probably have a few younger users). Feel free to share stories, just make sure you edit them to a PG rating before hitting submit :D

That's why our birds are all downstairs [emoji6]

❤️ Animals are like little angels sent to earth to teach us how to love ❤️

Possibly why the RB2 I am holiday mum to makes butt noises from time to time as he has to share his mum/dads room when grandma comes to stay LOL.

Tried Plum in our room once on holiday but he was a pain in the rear - I think he had been on guard for the mummy all night in case of marauders LOL

As I've mentioned before, Goofy's original human was a confirmed bachelor and liked a certain type of movie. Goofy learned certain sounds from those movies and occasionally mimics them at inopportune times. It is mortifying. Given that we aren't his first humans, we have a convienient excuse, which is even better because it's true.

I think that if I had to share a bedroom with a bird, I would not be able to feel comfortable being intimate. Parrots will be parrots. It's bad enough that we inherited a bird with this particular issue. I don't know if I'd be able to handle it if he'd learned those sounds from me.

The Rb1 (lol) is so intolerant/ballistic at the very sight if his "rival" that he has a room upstairs... we're downstairs! The only associated issue is that he has an astonishing ability to hear jeans-zippers going up and down and has a 90-decibel imitation of same!!!

:D the only one that would really worry me is confetti. At least if the rest of them pick up "a" noise, I could lie and say they got it somewhere else. Confetti imitates things in our voices though, be hard to deny that one...

"I have no idea where she learned that... In my voice.... I blame ghosts"

or "Umm... Kember just really likes fried chicken night. Yeah... Fried chicken night. That's a thing right?"

None of birds are in the bedroom, but I'd probably feel squeamish if they were!!
