He is cute! The colors are amazing.

Hi Johann,
In some light his head looks intensely blue. In other light, like sunlight through the window, it is lighter. Also, his head looks kind of small compared to his body, but he is only 4.5 months and still has a little growing to do. We are trying to figure each other out. I gave him his big cage today and added one toy at a time, then wait a while and added another. He is not afraid of them and starts to check them out right away. Pritti would ignore them for weeks or even months most times. It's so weird being in this not-knowing-each-other phase. Am so used to my beloved Pritti -- we knew each other and had our routines down pat.

I'm stuck on choosing a name. Probably because I'm so tired after being away from home so long -- I don't trust my brain to decide, lol. I'll share my thoughts in another post or PM.

Aww s/he is beautiful. Cannot wait to see some more pics. Welcome home little buddy. :)

I love the way the blue crown head feathers change in different light. Tootsie has really pale feathers compared to Rosco. She is almost grey. Sometimes call her my "grey crowned conure". Old age, I suppose. Old pictures of her look a little more vibrant. But Rosco's feathers sometimes really catch my attention and I have to stop to take a closer look at him.

I am so late to this party!! So happy for you and the new baby. He is stunning!! Gilbert was really 'babyish' looking when I got him, and still tends to be more of the classic 'dull green' with subdued blue on the head.....until he is in sunlight. Then the colors pop.

You will do great with him.

Gil has always been a good eater and is very open to different foods as long as we are eating them together (well except I don't eat pellets....but he did finally make the switch to Harrisons). Strangely he doesn't like the Harrison's coarse, which Georgie preferred, but he likes the fine. Once I realized he was put off by the coarse pellet, we made the switch and it was all good.

Keep us all posted on him. Hugs to the little monkey.
