August POTM Contest

Here is my submission. Tsali, Food Quality Inspector, checking out my Grandson, Ronnie's dinner. He was munching down on the bread on Ronnie's hamburger. Sadly moments after the photo was taken, Tsali claimed the plate as his own and wouldn't let Ronnie finish. Having finished his inspections, Tsali got banished from the table and Ronnie got a new plate.

I dont know if other parrots do this, but when Salty and I are training ( and I use little pieces of pine nut), he will hold one piece under his tounge, in the little pocket of his lower beak, while he munches up one in his upper beak. Only reason I know, is cuz I was looking down and saw the piece there.

Yes, Pebbles will do the same with a pine nut piece or a pumpkin seed, not so much Gizmo, but I think in this case the full almond is just too large. I actually probably wouldn't have noticed the second one in her foot (as I was trying to move in for a better photo) except that she was slipping all over the table in her hurried attempt to grab another one, like a person with one skate on:D.

Sometimes they get a bit clumsy and will bite a pine slither or pumpkin seed in half and loose the other half to the floor, but I have also been tricked by Pebbles, who will take the treat and while I am treating Gizmo for a trick she will tuck it below the tongue and then make out like she hasn't got anything (she does a large yawning type motion if she is desperate for a treat), so I get her to do the trick again and give her a treat only to find her eating the treat and then revealing the other supposedly lost treat:D...lol. As I said she is a rule breaker and a cheeky girl, but I wouldn't have it any other way:)

Am I allowed to change my entry? If I am, I want to change it to this one. If not, this is just for fun.

Dinner tonight was super nachos. Charlotte would not stay on her perch so I wound up eating one handed with her on my lap. She was still trying to get my food. You can also see Leo in the background doing is best to be cute enough to get some chips. No chips little birdies. You already got your birdie bread and veggies.

You can change your entry for sure! The first one can be the for fun one:)

Skitty is a good boy. He eats his broccoli! (This is an old picture, one of the first I ever took of him. Notice he's still wearing his leg band- something he only had for the first month and a half I had him.)

Look at that messy beak and innocent look!

This is Kiwi's topic right here! Just a few "for fun" pics of the KING of bad table manners himself:16:. His mommy is always extremely embarrassed by his lack of etiquette and decorum at the table:smile004:

Positioning Kiwi at the table is a tricky but important process. He'll steal food right out off your fork if you have him too close!

This one is probably my favorite. My foolish husband left someone unattended with a sandwich. He mauled/dragged the sandwich. It was pretty savage. The sandwich had to be put out of it's misery after the green velociraptor attacked it.

When we first got Gizmo we were unaware that he was a sprite-a-holic. Glasses of sprite could not be left unattended. Photo is a result of his obsession. (no worries, he is not allowed sprite)

Love this! How funny he likes sprite. My parents birds will take a sip of soda sometimes too. Perhaps he would enjoy some lemon and lime juice in his water as a more birdie friendly alternative:)

Archie with a face full of soggy pellets from his foraging bowl, amazing considering he's an old boy who only used to eat seed [emoji3]

So many super cute entries! Poppy will never be able to choose, shhhh, please don't tell her the vote is for the non feathered members.

Archie looks amazing xD
Gotta ask though, what up with his nails ? if you don't mind me asking.

Due to not being looked after in his previous homes some of his nails are twisted and curled under. They do need a trim now but don't look much better when they're done [emoji17]

I'm so sorry! But you're doing your best for him now so even if they don't get better, they wont get worse, and at least he's in a much better and happier condition being with you. Thankyou for doing your best for him :)

Archie's look of sheer joy says it all:)

Jasper helps when I'm doing chop. Well he throws everyone else's fruit and veg on the floor, or takes bits from all containers :D
This is why I now use containers instead of the actual dishes (I can close them when one is done, much less mess). Now he just throws tantrums cause he can't throw everything on the floor. :D

Beautiful pucs and great entries one and all
Having internet problems and our always slow connection is even slower of late and uploading pics is impossible as our connection is very weak these days but got this from an old pic uploaded to photobucket some time ago and to this day Mr Biggles still thinks dandelions are way better to wrestle with and eat than veggies :)
