We decorated on Sunday! Ollie helped...

Wow! You must have a beautiful and huge home if that's your Christmas tree! Puts our little 4' tree to shame:p

P.S. I spy an orange "ornament" that looks mighty out of place;)

There has been a delay in Penguin Wonderland. I apparently failed to pay attention to what I was doing when I packed stuff up last year and failed to removed the batteries from a strand of lights that's crucial for part of the display (and nowhere near an outlet.) The batteries corroded, and then exploded everywhere. I'm waiting on replacements for what was ruined now.

Bummer:( I hate when batteries explode and ruin things like that.

What are y'all talking about? We just had a spate of nearly 90F days. We're in a summer time warp, Christmas may never come!

Is it ever cold in California (except perhaps up in the mountains)?

Depends on the definition of cold! I think it is cold in mid-December when the mercury is at 36F at 2AM! My ideal range is 65F to about 75F. But I really know better and have experienced winter in Fairbanks and Calgary!

Believe it or not, the coastal SoCal strip is semi-arid, almost but not quite desert. Rarely reach freezing and it quickly warms beyond sunrise. Summers have been getting hotter with wilder excursions as we recently experienced in late November.

Ollie pooped in the tree 😂 😂 😂 Guess your tree is truly personalized to your family now? The only good things about parrot poop is at least it doesn't stink and is pretty easy to clean up.

Now Kiwi is potty trained, but is...ahem... a bit too "large" to fit in our small tree:p I'll have to try to get a photo of him under it or something.

Ollie is potty trained also and he hasn't pooped on anything in months lol but for some reason he decided to have an accident on the tree haha. Maybe a fake pine needle poked his butt! Or maybe he's pissed I moved his tree stand to the dinning room to make way for the Christmas decor. He keeps flying towards it and then promptly turning after he remembers it's not there. Well he got back at it by firing off on onto it!

well I'm a little tardy to the party but I'm planning on doing mine this weekend (first time) going to be interesting seeing what decorations I was "donated" by my mum and what I need to go out and get. Also going to be a good excuse to throw some bits in the attic and maybe bring the cage down to store in an easier to reach spot (cough)

Thinking of a feathered Christmas present for self?? ;)

We adopted Kiwi at Christmas time. Decided on a feathery "gift". It went something like this those first few weeks (that's me over off to the left BTW):16::green:

My husband and I got out the decorations last weekend and I got most of them put up. I'm finishing the tree today, Yoda is very excited. He's eager to help me decorate the tree by chewing on the branches... He hangs on to the front of my shirt trying to reach them. So I keep putting him on my shoulder to keep him from the branches. The clever little guy takes a handful of my hair and slides down the lock of hair as if he were a mountain climber rappelling down a cliff on a rope!!! :D

THIS is what I have to deal with all day... he chews things and poops on things and tries to get at anything that tries to take my attention away from HIM.... but he is SO darn cute and sweet when he does it that it's impossible to be mad!! Truly he is a powerful Jedi and I am weak of mind. He's got me wrapped around his little toes. :60:

Tomorrow, Friday, 1 December starts the official decorations for Christmas at the Boats' household. This evening starts the arrival of the boxes into Amazon Vill. Depending on the reaction, there is an 'outside' possibility that the tree will be set-up! No, its not real, we left that World long ago when decorations came out for first of November (see earlier Post).

Commonly, our Chief Inspector will fly to the railing surround the staircase when I begin to bring up the 'stuff!' So, we look for approval at that point! :D Aaah, the life of a staff person!

I finally got Penguin Wonderland all sorted out.

You have to use your imagination a little bit, but it's supposed to look like the penguins are sliding down their little penguin slide and into the little Penguin Family Christmas scene. A few things got ruined and I couldn't replace them, so it's not as good as it has been.
