3 weeks+ at home Blue Golden Macaw HELP needed
Hello All,
We have a Bluegolden macaw nearly 17/18 weeks old at home
hand feeded 3 times a day with syringe also eating apple, loves banana and broccoli and some carrots..also pellets..
Still sleeping in a big box, already finding Captain(name) on the edge of the box when return to home for lunch and later in the evening sitting and saying hello
Have a home (cage) already letting him sit on top, started climbing the rope to the upper sitting/playing place..also already made a short flight to my arm and continiously flapping hard his wings..
Started to take only half syringe morning and luch, hardly one full..but evenings takes full one and a half..
how should I adapt him to stay and sleep in the cage, is it time?
breeder insists to clip the wings to keep him secure and says they will come back..and no problems will occur..I believe as he nearly started to fly I have 2 weeks max to take him to the breeder to clip the wings... to be honest this I don't want but also afraid of flying accidents at home or escape..dont know what is correct...
living in apartment so also nervous about screams which are rare for the moment...well will send the neighbours back if they come and say theyre disturbed..
for now the last question he is always calling me to take him and cuddle where he is happy nearly sleeping and this occurs when I come back from job..shall I start leaving him sleep in cage ?
thank you all for your time and answers..as soon us I upload I will share Captains pictures..
have a wonderful day
