I broght Charlie to see a vet about the air bubbles on her back...Had to go to a different vet cause her reg was already gone for the day...she will be on new antis and when I go to her reg vet on tues we will be getting xrays as well... when getting her into the carrier to go to the vet she dropped a blood feather so she was bleeding as well...poor bird what a mess...they had to cauterize the folicle...also her feathers are all messed up from poor nutrition. .they are all squiggly looking when they come in...will post more when I get home...

Can you hand feed him [baby formula through a syringe ?} Its the best way to put on weight and get vitamins

The worst part is that I spent over 50 dollars on her meds and she wont touch them

You would either mix it in food or you would have to syringe feed the meds.

The last batch I was able to put on some bread and she gobbled it up...this stuff she took one taste and scrambled to the other side of the cage

It smell kinda like the cherry meds from when I was a kid...maybe she doesn't like cherries

I hope Charlie gets better real soon. I know from experience it can be stressful on the mom caring for the sick parrot.

Take care of yourself as well.

Maybe hand feeding Charlie will help with your bond become stronger. Your previous post about her sound like you are doing very well with Charlie.

Crimson... we have been dealing with an infection for over a month and I guess it has moved from her air sacs in her head into her lung and developed into pneumonia

So sorry for the continued stress of Charlie's illness! Was hoping she'd get better!

Hope you are able to find a way to get weight back on her and get her to take the meds!
