Hi! I've had my budgie for around 3 months now and hes had a cuttlebone in his cage since day 1 but hes never used it. Hes still not tame enough for a beak trim so i was wondering what else can i put in his cage so he can grind his beak? Thank you

Is his beak so overgrown that he needs a beak trim? Perhaps you could post a picture?

Ok, that is definitely a little long. Ideally, you would take him to an avian vet to have it trimmed properly. Once it’s properly trimmed, giving him lots of wooden toys to chew on can help keep the beak in good condition. Cuttle bones and mineral blocks are good. I also have this perch ( below) in my birds’ cages which they will rub their beak against to help keep it filed. All of these things are good to help maintain a proper beak length but won’t necessarily “ trim” it. That is best done by a professional.
