You know you're a bird owner when ?? Add yours

When you're helping someone to their feet and you instinctively say "step up" to them.

When little green spots in odd locations don't bother you at all

When people you meet think you're a self-harmer or drug addict because of all the scratches on your forearms

When you have green feathers sticking out of your bun and you didn't put them there

When you always wear Sensible Earrings instead of pretty ones

When most of your clothing has no buttons

When there are no more pony tail holders left in the house because the birds chomped them all

When there's munch marks on every door and window in your house

When you have a dedicated birdie poop-spoon, birdie dishcloth and birdie dustpan for those little emergencies

When you're constantly telling your kids 'No - that's for the birds - you can't have that'

When you utterly can't understand why your guests get so worried about being pooped on - after all, that's the glamour of owning birds!

When you're hungry and make your bird food and forget to feed yourself!

When you're shopping and you take twice as long in the produce section and then realize you bought all the produce for your bird and not yourself!

...when you are searching for a new home and you put your bird's needs in a new place ahead of what you want and need.

when, instead of thinking "I really need to put up a barrier to keep those chickens off the patio" you search for the best method of removing poo from concrete.

When your dogs walk around with poops on their back!! LOL

Hahahahaha :)

When you are in the ambulance and you tell the paramedics you cant leave, you have a bird!

When you get needles at the hospital and you say- really, my bird could bite harder than that!

When you get asked to go out with friends or on a date, and you say- Can my bird come?

When you have more bird things in your room than things for yourself!

When you spend ALOT longer cooking and preparing meals for your bird than yourself!

When you go out you look at every single tree branch to see if that would work well for a perch!

But i think you know you are a bird owner when nothing in the world can make you happier than getting a kiss or cuddle from that special bird! :)

You check for bird poop on you
Someone says "There is some bird poop on the back of your shirt"
You usually stay at home unless you work or go on errands
You put more effort cooking for the bird then for you.
You are surprised at how a bird can make such a big mess
You find yourself having to stop a pet from chewing up wires and other things.

When you share your drink with your bird and they sit on the side of the cup drinking with you.... lol

when you have no more room in your freezer for human food because all the bird food is taking all the space

When you get in from a night out and the babysitter is more excited to tell you how well your parrot mimics the baby, (fools every one of them with crying sounds), than anything the baby did..

When you accidentally leave the house with bird poop on your jacket!

when you set a place for him at the dinner table, even when you have company over.

When you stop wearing mascara unless you are out for the day, because your bird wants to preen it off for you.

When you are so used to being a birdy jungle gym that you don't even notice it and wonder why your guests are staring at you open mouthed. Could it be that in the span of 2 minutes the parrot has: perched on your shoulder, moved down and under the front of your shirt, followed by a flapping session while holding onto the back of your shirt, then perched on the top of your head and finally comes back to your shoulder? All the while you are able to continue a conversation as if nothing out of the norm is happening. ;)

When your cooking [and your family asks excitedly ] "is it for us". Nope, its for the birds :)
