I now realize how attached I am to Sprite O.O WOW. Im going on vacation tomorrow..and we are only getting back Sunday...and I feel like im going to miss him so much and he will miss me :( I am one of 3 people that he will step up onto, and i am the ONLY person that he will let touch him all over and flip him in my hand. Anyone else gone on vacation and missed their birds??

P.S. I think I will sykpe Sprite :)

I went to Colorado for 5 days a few weeks ago, first time we left House and Wilson. I was suprised how much I missed them. I talked about them all the time and we went to bird stores to bring them home treats/toys. I'm sure my inlaws thought I was nuts! The boys missed me too, I could tell when I got home and they jumped out of the cage. Wilson learned a new phrase while we were gone though which was a cool suprise:)

We are going to a big bird store and I will be sure to get him some treats :)

I know what you mean! As much as it drives me crazy some days, getting up early, getting food ready for the day, sweeping their mess up and spending time with them before and after work had become as much part of my daily routine as brushing my teeth or doing my hair has.

When I went on holiday for a week, I left them with a very well known and fantastic bird boarding place. I know they were happy and well looked after but I thought about them the whole time! I missed my little crazy conures, and was really glad to see them once I got home. :)

OMG I know how it feels! It's strange not being around them 24/7...

I went to my Mums for a Week a while ago... I found myself ringing everyday to see how Codie was :) She was so happy to see me when I came back!

The last 2 days I spent the majority of my time helping my friend and her family get settled into their new house. I was gone 16+ hours each day. My mother looked after the birds for me, but I still missed them a lot. By the time I'd get home each day they'd be covered and sound asleep. I knew taking them out wasn't a good idea unless I wanted to attempt to sleep with two conures fighting over who got to sleep down the front of my shirt. I can't imagine being away from them for days at a time. I know it'll happen eventually... I get sad leaving my cats for vacation, but I left them just fine the last two days and didn't feel sad like I did over the birds.
