Hello everyone!
The sun has been playing peek-a-boo today and it's so bright, the weather seems to be warming up, even though it was frosty and slippery outside this morning, but the afternoon's been nice!
I cannot wait for Kiwiberry's harness to comes round next week so we can start harness and recall training!
It feels like spring is just around the corner now and I cannot wait!! This year I'm gonna go out a LOT and see new places, hopefully with Kiwiberry can come with on most the trips!
Definitely not gonna take this year for granted :D

How's everyone doing today?!
Can anyone else feel spring peeking around the corner? :2_smile:

I'm in such a good mood I could headbutt a wall out of joy! :headwall:

Im so glad your having a wonderful day! Haha Im in a great mood! It feels like winter hasn't even come yet for me though. Only snowed twice and didnt stick. :( I can not wait for spring! I want to plant my morning glories! I want to harness train as well so Pumpkin can go with me on outings outside his travel cage. I got the flight suit yesterday and am going to start playing with him with it today. We have lots of treats ready for training and it should be a great day!

I need to start sowing seeds as well ... Can't decide what I want though.
It's only snowed a few times here as well, didn't stick either, but I don't really mind, I don't like all the slush when it melts :p

Exciting! Good luck with the training, wouldn't mind some updates either :)

I had no idea they climbed walls, neat!
I'm going mostly for veggies and some stuff for Kiwiberry to climb on once they're big enough :)

LOl i wanted to have a veggie garden, but i have a black thumb lol that is a wonderful idea to grow veggies for your bird though!! Bet that saves money and is rewarding. what do you grow for her to climb on?

It is :) I haven't tried growing too many veggies though, but will do this year.
I'm not sure yet, I think I'll first off buy like a small citrus tree for her so I can let the other things grow.

Spring?? What's that!!?? We've still got 2 months of winter here in MN and that's if we're lucky. My Dad remembers getting stuck in May from all the snow!! Thankfully it usually starts warming up the end of March, no bikini weather yet by any means:D I was looking at seeds the other day at a local market and although I was tempted to buy some I held off.

Here in Oregon we may get some sunny but chilly days in a couple months, but it will be June before we get any really decent days! I wear at least a light jacket or sweater most years until at least May or June!

The latest I can remember seeing snow here is March, I remember it snowing on my b-day years ago, I was shocked to say the least! :D

T-shirt weather is usually around May, occasionally it's warm enough in March and April though, and the feeling you get when that happens and you see a few colourful flowers, the trees budding, with a blue sky and bright sun. It's amazing.
Can't believe something so simple, small and common can make me so happy lol

Amanda, do you freeze easily or is it just really cold in Gresham?

It is turning into a lovely day here in south eastern New Mexico! Its nice and warm outside with a slight breeze. :) Maybe my doggies and birdie would like to go outside for a while, hmm? lol

Sounds like a perfect idea, as long as it's not too cold for the lil' bird :)
What's the lowest temperature you would bring your bird out in? Is there a good rule of thumb to work with?

HUH thats a good question, i just sorta figured if im comfortable then they should be too right? Maybe 60*-65*?

EDIT: I also wouldn't take them out if its too windy which is a REAL problem here some days...

Yeah, they keep warmth way better than us, so even if you're a bit chilly, they can be perfectly comfortable.
60-65 sounds reasonable to me, but I've never had a bird outside, so don't take my word for it :p

Oh i just checked the weather it is 55 outside. :( felt warmer than that.

Should be alright for a short walk I think :) Although I'd wait 'till someone with experience answers.

Nice! I am also trying to win appolo a jarness on ebay and the sun has come melt the snow. My mom is finnaly considering taking me to the parrot resque soon to visit all the parrots! Great that you and kiwiberry can travel together.
