Ok I have noticed lately that Cricket will pull herwings from her side and shake them (not flap) They are still folded under her but away from her body... almost like a tremble... I know damn well she isn't cold

What do you think It could be?

Are they kinda drooped when she does this, does she make any sounds? It sounds kinda what Bucc does and if so then its a love thing. I've got pictures somewhere (of course) I'll have to find them up and get them posted. I have to rush out now but I'll be back later hopefully with the pics.

The fact that she does it doesn't worry me, I just want to know what it means.
She usually does this after I put her back in the cage, and once in a while when I come and try to get her out. I say try because she now has that cage aggression and I have decided that I will be using gloves to take her out, which seems to be working for now, but I think that’s because she doesn't know what to make of them yet.
I have noticed that if she growls at something or someone she will be totally submissive to them. She growled the loudest at my brother (can't say I blame her ) but she hopped right up on to his hand and even let him pet her head :12: I didn't even get to do it yet (at that point).
With me, I don't get growls and some times the feather drop thing, but I can't stick my hand in her cage with out her acting like a blow fish and hissing like a snake 33: maybe I didn't get a bird)
Anyways when I do manage to get her out of the cage she seems fine... well fine in relation to how far I have gotten with her (not saying I don't still get bit)

Ok, one more thing…. How do you train a bird to stay on the perch? I made her one so she can spend some time down stairs. By the way, the “before I fly” dance is just as funny looking as the poopy dance. I don’t know if she way aiming to get closer to me, but the over worrying boyfriend of mine gets so upset when she does this that he tells me to put her back before she get hurt…. I don’t want to. First off if I put her back ever time she did this she would never be out, and second it isn’t like she is hitting a window or a wall… she has been smashing into the nice comfy couch where we are sitting. I think she is just trying to be with the rest of the flock.

I don’t know what are all your thoughts?

Right here is a picture that I managed to find, (have more but at the moment can't find them, all pictures were moved when I was having trouble with putor)

I have left this big so it is easier to see. You can see that his wing has drooped down, he will also do it with the other wing but they are still to the side of him. This is his loooooooove dance. Does Cricket look anything like this. Sorry its not a brilliant one, I'll keep looking for the others that I have.

Ok, one more thing…. How do you train a bird to stay on the perch?

I did this with Bucc with the clicker, and now (if he has done something wrong) he will get a sign I put him on his java tree and make the "T" sign with my fingers he knows then he has to stay there for a little while. It took me ages to get him to finally do it, but he's great with it now.

I think your boyfriend would be surprised at how good birds are at flying round the home, or even in the smallest of spaces.

I think you are right, maybe try moving the perch nearer to where you are both sitting, she just wants to be included.

That picture is pretty close to what she does, with the wings quivering. If it is a happy dance why does she not want to step up, or you think thats just cage aggression.

Remember she is clipped. I am thinking I might just walk around on the floor, so she can check things out (with cat locked up of course)

She is showing you that she loves you. The stepping up sounds pretty much like cage aggression. Bucc will allow me to get him in and out of the cage, play with him when he is on top of the cage, BUT when I give it a real good clean, which is toys out and me inside he goes mad, He has given me some real blood gushing, holes in the hand kinda bites that way. He is really cage aggressive, I am the only one who can touch/play with him when he is on his cage. If anyone else touches his cage then they better watch out.

Remember she is clipped.

Sorry I forget this. Walking round the room sounds like a good idea to me. Is the perch near to where you both sit in the evenings? Cricket probably just wants to be near you, she loves her Mum.

Pop away.. he is a nut case when it comes to animals
He once insisted on calling a vet because the cat got a mouse, didn't kill the mouse, didn't even make it bleed, he just got tossed around like a bean bag. He is too funny, a true hypochondriac about the animals.
