Got the opportunity to visit a wild animal sanctuary today. It was extremely windy so lots of the animals were in their hides away from sight and the bears are still hibernating but got some good pictures still!

Great picts, but what a huge bunch of severely overweight animals :)
They sure have plenty to eat there ;)

All the overweight ones were in a "newly acquired" area that they keep their new animals before transitioning them to a big pen. My guess is so they can watch their heath and weight and such. They rescue their animals from illegal or just bad situations.
 
It happens- and healthy but overweight is easier to fix than longterm malnourishment.


We had a drama this week that the rescuecentre who got two tigers from the town of Aleppo (after it was almost levelled by bombs etc.) had to euthenize the second one as well: too much kidneydamage (not enough food for far too long). So sad.
