Females still have breedibf behavior even without a male around. They can even lay eggs.

Mist have misunderstood how you described bowl behavior. I've just seen plenty of girls spend time in bowl in a nest like or even lay eggs in bowl.

Means more hormones are being produced, for breeding (if you need more info, PM me, but I don't want to make this whole thread a weird 'birdie talk' thread). Anyhow, basically a spike in hormones during breeding season.

It won't take more vitamins if they are on a healthy diet. But its good to offer cuttlefish and boiled egg shells to make sure if they want extra calcium its available.
