Why Does She Do This?

So I noticed this interesting thing my bird does at random. Sometimes when she is on the counter, or the bed, or something with an edge, my bird will lean over the edge as if looking down the will open her wings out like she’s about to fly. I tried looking this up and I can’t find anything about it and was just wondering if anyone else’s birds do this too?

Ignore the dirty sock

I have read (can’t recall where) it shows ownership/posessivness over an area.
I think it’s just to show off.

Mine does it once in awhile. Like texsize mentioned, your tiel is just showing off.

When mine takes ownership or claims that it is his, he will hammer with his beak.. Mine, mine, mine.

I have read that big cockatoos of some species hammer or drum on nest sites to attract the ladies, or to advertise their smashing new crib. Wonder if cockatiels do that, too.

I have tapped on objects or food dishes to direct my bird’s attention there as they don’t seem to “get” pointing at something.
