I have been looking at the white fronted amazons and am smitten with the little guys. Can anyone point me in the direction of a reputable breeder or any available? Would love to hear from anyone who has one as well! Thanks!!

:)It would probably help if you put down a rough idea of where you are located

I did. Just nervous about picking from ones I know nothing about.....

No, not hard to find. Not a common bird so peoples don't have many recommended breeders. I'd contact some of the listed breeders on birdbreeds.com and talk to them. Chances are babies aren't that common this time of year anyway. I'd go with my "gut" feelings, ask lots of questions.Of course research before hand so you can ask intelligent questions. Personally,, i wouldn't buy a zon without meeting it.I'd try to find one close enough that you could visit the babies and pick one who picks you.

Can anyone be on that bird breeder website or is it a fairly reputable site?

Yes and Yes, If they have some history on there they're usually OK. Most of the people with lots of listings are brokers. The mom and Pop breeders who love to tell you all about their birds are who you want.

Oh Yeah, you may, may not find White Front Amazon listed as many folks still call them Spectacle Amazon.I did check bridbreeders and there is a couple listed. Can't really recommend any because i don't know them.

Ive looked up both names but not much luck :(. I'll keep trying!

I don't know of anyone locally that breeds white fronts. Most of the white fronts I've seen have been older breeder birds or rescue birds. I live in Iowa BTW and sometimes go to the Omaha bird fairs and talk to their club members once in a while. You will probably have to ship if you want a white front. Be careful, ask for a health guarantee and ask what they do to ensure the health of their babies and breeding stock. A good breeder will often have pictures or videos. Sometimes its helpful to ask for a video of a bird interacting with the breeder so you know the bird is actually handleable and allows scritches. Its easy to get a cute pic of a bird on their cage. If the bird hasn't been socialized though, you can often see that on a video if it doesn't accept petting, leans back or acts anxious.
