2 Greys, 2 Yellow Sided Conures, 1 Jardine's & 1 Lovebird.
At the end of the world,

if there's only one parrot that you can bring along to the spaceship,

which would you choose?

I'm stuck in greys and caigues...

There is NO way I could leave either of my babies behind. I would somehow manage to smuggle them ALL onto the spaceship, every last one of them. :D

If your question refers to parrots we already have, that's essentially asking: "if you could only save one of your dearly-loved children from a terrible death, which would it be?" IMO, there's no settling answer to a question like that. But if you're simply referring to the species of parrot we'd like to have with us, I'd have to go with a Hy as well.

This is really is a dumb question. If if the world is to end in all reality you would only be concerned about your self. On the Day of Judgement you will only be concerned about your self. Please be honest to your self. Think real deep and you will know what I just said is nothing but the truth. I love parrots but when a serious question arises then a serious answer shall been given. Peace. Fear the One who created you and Fear the Day of Judgement, Peace.

Perhaps true if your're prone toward sociopathy. You can't presume to know how important one's pets may be to them in a time of crisis. Each of us is not the same! By your thinking, every individual human would abandon all family members to save themselves. If that's really how you would behave in such a situation, I feel sorry for you. Moreover. I'm not religious so I fear no creator or day of judgment. You really sound to be preaching a bit there. I don't do well as a target for preaching.

(Edit: Please note that this reply was not intended to offend anyone. I simply have a very powerful attachment to my birds, which includes my obligation and absolute desire to protect them in any situation. While the circumstances of the question from the original post were unrealistic, certain real life situations can arise that may require the type of horrific decision implied. I dread the thought of ever finding myself and my cherished flock members in such a situation!)

This was directed towards the questioner not you. So why are so upset. You can feel that way because we all have free will. I am a person of peace so if my statement offended you then I apologize for that... Peace to you.

There are no "dumb questions"...... as the saying goes.

I doubt the intention of this topic was to bring about religious debate anyway, which I'm pretty sure is frowned upon as much as a political thread would be here.

Besides............Plax is pretty laid back and easy going...........then there are some here that aren't..........:54:

i'm totally with JerseyWendy on this!! i'd pick Bandit and smuggle pip in my purse, i'm not leaving any behind! my only concern would be parrot space suits...
I'd probably only get one for Bandit, so i need to keep pip in mine... somehow... he'd be picking my face the whole time if he's in the big bubble shaped helmet... i'd also be cought pretty quickly cause it would show he's in there.

can we please start developing parrot space suits! preferably conure sized ones...

Peace to you as well. I replied to your post because it was a blanket statement, meaning that you were claiming it was true about me as well. Well, it's not true about me.

And technically free will is an illusion. Yes, each of us can choose and decide. But each choice we make is actually a precise outcome (i.e., a cause and effect result of the precise antecedents that led to/produced it).

I simply don't want you speaking for me, so please don't.

Thanks

Yes you are correct there are no dumb questions, I got bit carried away. I apologize for that. I will take back everything that I said except the comments that I hold dear to me, Peace to everybody.

Ahem... so if I could have any one bird, ignoring my current sweeties... I'd have to go with a harlequin macaw!

my only concern would be parrot space suits...

:35::bunny7::18:

I have the best mental picture of that! LOL

FineFeatheredFriend I disagree, its not a dumb question :D It's pretty interesting what everyones interpretation is. Plus I am unlikely to ever just think of myself, EVER. :)
Maybe its something you can only understand if you have loved deeply. First thing on my mind would be how I save those I love <3 Everyone's coming on the spaceship with me :D

Also I guess it was a species thing, not which of your pets you would choose :p I would say Galah/rosebreasted/pink&grey cockatoo.

If this was species wise...
A LILAC CROWNED AMAZON!!! OMG I love them... hehehehe. =)

I guess I just assumed it was asking: if there could only be one species to choose overall, what parrot do I think of first, instinctively? Which do I turn to first and foremost? I guess I didn't take moral thinking/reality into account, only what comes to mind first....lol.

I would choose a sun conure, but if I had to bring only one of my birds with me I would choose sprite and then like the rest of you said smuggle Pepsi into the space ship. Heck, Pepsi is so small I could sneak him in hiding in my hair ( I have very thick long hair )

I would, of course, bring Rosie because I love her and she's my family. Hypothetically if I didn't have her I would probably bring a African gray, macaw, or red tailed black cockatoo.
