Are there any reputable things to read on the web? A sticky thread with links might be a good idea here.

You can start with purchasing the clicker, and then go ahead and make some search on "clicker training" in youtube. Also try this site How to Tame & Train Parrot - Step by Step Taming Guide
It's really not that hard since you and your bird understand the basics, you can start thinking on new tricks by your own with now need for guidance from other sights.
Good luck.

I think it is. All the clicker does is tell your parrot the exact moment they do the correct behavior, it's also a very consistent and short sound.

I tried for 2 months without any success to teach Rosie how to wave, I bought a clicker and she had it down in a week! The only thing different about the two training methods was was the bridge, before the clicker I was saying "good!", but that's too long and inconsistent compared to a quick click.

I'm all for clicker but I don't use a clicker even though I own a few, I know where one is but the other one is put away somewhere...lol....It just sits there collecting dust over time here....lol....I actually taught my birds to do things without clicker, Willie does the wave if you wave at him, he'll wave back, taught him without using a clicker.... :)
