I have looked across the internet, i been to literally every single bird selling cage website I can find...

and NOBODY will ship to Hawaii.

I'm looking for a cage that is at least 36 inch in width for an eclectus; but it seems to not exist.

What am I to do?

I'm not sure but this once might possibly be shipped to Hawaii.

bird.com doesn't ship large cages to hawaii even though it says that on the site.

galore will not ship to hawaii, you have to hire your own forwarder to ship it which is likely too expensive and a lot of work.

the other 3 sites i never seen before, i will look into it, thank you.

^^^ @ Amazon one, I am very shocked that it has shipping to Hawaii because all the large cages I seen sold from amazon were not allowed to be shipped to Hawaii but I haven't come by that before because usually nobody buys that type of cage for an eclectus; all the other playtop HQ ones on amazon are not allowed to be shipped to Hawaii

thank you so far guys.

Have you tried contacting the various cage manufacturers directly and seeing if any will ship to Hawaii????

Have you looked for any pett stores in Hawaii that could get a cage shipped in?

I called all the pet stores and nothing, max size cages are 24 inches in width and no shipping in.

So far I got a list of places to get a cage from possibly, i have emailed them all to get their pricing for hawaii.

hopefully they all ship to hawaii and I find one with a reasonable price.

When I was in Hawaii several years ago, I can't really say I recall any large cages. Sad that you can ship "ground" to Hawaii and it's cheaper than shipping it Express or otherwise! But it's still expensive!

Here's a list of some cage manufacturers. At least, standard type cages, starting from tiny cages on up to wrought iron, aluminum and stainless steel.

  1. A&E
  2. Kings Cages
  3. HQ
  4. YML
  5. Prevue
  6. HOEI
  7. Blue Ribbon
  8. Hagen
  9. Marvelous
  10. Avian Adventures
  11. Freedom Cages
  12. Featherland
  13. Suncatcher
  14. California Cages
  15. Northwest Cages
  16. Innovative Cages

I don't know if that list will be of any help...

My suggestion is to find a pet store and buy from them, it might be the only way. If not, maybe find a breeder who has cages on hand or can tell you how they got theirs.

Aren't the cages flat-packed? We have a huge heavy duty cage for our eclectus and it came that way, in fact all our "shipped" caged came thus and they are even sold in bird shops that way, only display cages are put together.

Danbrah, I've lived on an offshore island (external territory of Oz) and shipping can be a real pain, especially as there are so many charges along the way: in my case items came by sea so charges at sending end, plus fee for unloading from ship, plus another for getting to depot or your house. Then there was import duty! I would have thought Hawaii (been there, loved it!) would have had some procedure in place for "surface" shipping of heavy items, after all the population's so big compared to my island's 2500! Plus you have multiple islands, unlike my former lone speck in SW Pacific.

Good luck contacting HQ directly. I had issues with their 40x30" dometop and could not find a customer service contact either by phone or e-mail.

I would not recommend a HQ cage because their paint is thin and the welding on the bars are sharp and YOU will have to chip them off. On my dome top, there were gaps between the front and back panels and the dome section. To fix it, I had to zip tie it because I had no other choice other than to sell it to some unsuspecting buyer. I did not think that was the right thing to do so I kept it. Also, THERE IS NO DIRECT CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH THE MANUFACTURER. There is nothing on the paperwork that comes with the cage as you would expect whenever you purchase a product.

Contact this company and see what they can do. http://www.eclectusparrot.com/cages.carriers.html. Another option is Birdtoyman, John, who sells cages on ebay. He sells Kings cages and a variety of other brands. I have purchased items from him in the past and he can be flexible with his prices.

Can a friend on the mainland purchase it for you, then have a moving company take it from there? We have had family send a small amount of furniture shipped to us in GA from CA. I think another option is to use a wired dog crate and modify it to fit your needs.
