What's your parrots Favorite non toy , toy?

#1= Keyboard (ripping keys off specifically), #2 =Toilet paper roll

I'd have to say that aside from chewing on his rope bungee perches, he also chews on his natural wood perches. But his favorite non-toy "toy" is likely my shoulder and my chest hair. lol. He loves to climb inside my shirt and try to burrow in my chest hair and he also likes to preen it and rub the sides of his face in it. He makes this 'purring' noise when he does it too. lol

The climbing inside the shirt habit happened to occur by accident. When he would get to be too mischievous or vocal I'd often grab him and shove him inside my shirt to distract him and/or shut him up. lol. He's actually quite comfortable being 'held'. Sometimes I hold him in my hand and play "airplane" with him. lol. He doesn't bite me when I do that so I figure he doesn't mind since he's never been shy about expressing his displeasure with things. lol.

Back before the whole shirt cuddling, "chewing up" my shirts was his thing, but since he's gotten into cuddling inside my shirts, he doesn't chew them anymore. Lately he's gotten into napping in the curve of my neck by my shoulder when I recline in my chair.

Luckily, when I nap in bed, he doesn't try to cuddle with me. He actually "stands guard" either atop his sleep cage or on the headboard/footboard. I always keep the nightstand lamp on in case I don't wake up before its dark. But I usually nap in my recliner cause thats the safest way for me to nap without having to put him in his cage.

Non-toy toy that we freely give him - chopsticks! Takeaway/Delivery wooden chopsticks are with practically every meal, so we just use our metal chopsticks and keep a stash of wooden chopsticks for him. When we're out and about, he'll entertain himself with sharpening a chopstick into a mini-spear, which he promptly drops onto us.

His absolute favourite non-toy toy is our 3d-prints! He's broken a favourite bracelet of mine (a 12hr+ print ) and loves playing with the calibration cubes. We make sure to print them pretty solid with safe filament, so it's actually quite difficult for him to destroy anything.

Nanners loves these cardboard triangles that came with some picture frames my boss bought. hell roll around, tear them to shreds, dip them in his water (??) its hilarious :p

Yoda's favorite non-toy things are also pens (only if we are using the pen).

Both Yoda and Trigger LOVE to land on our hanging pot-rack in the kitchen, they're convinced it's a birdie playgym and they're mad I keep putting those annoying pots and pans in there. ;)

Trigger on the other hand love chewing on and destroying just about anything. He gets bored with anything he played with for more than a day though, so we have to keep giving him new things. We give him one "New Thing" every day. Here is his current collection:

That's excellent! Love the pics. I read a post earlier that talked about putting them in a toy box, to let the parrot dig through and choose! I'm going to add that to, with things like you posted. Thanks!

Someone had expensive tastes in "toys"

I forgot to mention that Skittles absolutely LOVES, LOVES, LOVES zippers! However, he is NOT allowed to have them or be near them. The little stinker seems to go on a mission to rip out as many of the little zipper snaps as he can. He's a little zipper snapper! lol. He chewed up the zipper on my $160 winter coat a few years ago. I got a new one last winter and he already chewed up the upper end of one of the sides. It's still wearable, I just can't pull the zipper all the way up or it'll come off. I'm gonna fix it at some point. lol. In the meantime, I have to 'hide' my jacket now. I can't hang it on the hook anymore cause he'll find it and find a way to get to the zipper.

For cytrynka: Zippers (you're right Skittys_Daddy they're twins!!!), keyboards (she LOVE popping out the keys, but also managed to damage the internals), and shirts (she's more than happy when she snaps her beak on the fabric to make ANOTHER hole; my yellow "Cutty sark" t-shirt is her unquestionable favourite).

She also loves metal bells, where she always finds some way to remove the clapper.

I forgot keyboards and drawstrings on pants...and pill bottles (eek---don't worry- she doesn't play with those, but she tries if they are around).

I'll let my husband know other birds also have a 'preferred ear' to violate with their creepy little worm-like tongue:p

In addition to his right ear, Kiwi is also fond of 'preening' my husbands eyebrows and eyelashes and occasionally even gives him a few gentle chomps on the nose lol.

Besides that fingers and toes are always fun to play with, so much so he occasionally even plays with his own toes (Kiwi not my husband:p) He is also an accomplished thief of any random office supply that has been carelessly left within his reach and is also not above stalking the dish rack for any item small/light enough for him to grab.

Great thread. 👍🏻

Levi’s a big fan of bottle caps also.

But, this is his current favorite toy/non-toy. :D

I’ll let the video speak for itself.

Levi is SO cute!!! It's strange to see him so quiet as he plays, Trigger makes all kinds of crazy yell/growl/caw sounds when he plays like that.

Thank you

Ya know, I never even realized that. You're right, he is very quiet when he plays. And always looks to me for approval, it's very sweet.
I should video him playing with the container in Slo-Mo. Bet that would be pretty cool.

What a passion in Levi's play! Love the moment when he rests his foot on 1:15

Luna is such a pretty lady!
Seems like all these non toys, toys get more play and action. Then the ones we pay big bucks for! Hopefully the members who live in counties that it's hard to get toys take note. Almost anything can be a toy!
