What’s your opinion on harnesses?

Great discussion, but one very important point missing: Is your area safe for taking a Parrot Outside!!
We live in Red Tailed Hawk Central! With 'only' five active families and use of out backyard as high-speed maneuvers training area. We get to see each years hatchlings learn those killing maneuvers!!

Add Owls, Ravens (Winter), Crow (Summer) and just to assure the point is well deliveries; Eagles floating over at height. Sea Gulls when the winds are high!

So, what does any of this have to do with Harness Training? Since much of North America and Europe are seeing a rapid increase in the return of Birds of Prey, one needs to 'know' what is flying in your area. After all, spending all that time training just to get your Parrot to wear a Harness may just be a huge waste of time.

If you live in an active area, like me, you are preparing for one of the worst days in your life! That wondrous moment with you and your Parrot, outside, with the love of your life on your shoulder. A moment later, you're on the ground and you Parrot is rapped in the claws of a Hawk! Likely already dead from a broken neck.

Yes, this is worst case!! But, before you get all excited about your Parrot and you outside for a walk. You need to know what in the air (or on the ground) around you!!
