I've got 7. 1 Cockatoo, 1 red bellied parrot and 5 finches - 2 owl finches and 3 Lady Gouldians. The finches are all in 1 flight cage and they're so small - they should only count as 1 bird! I feel like I've reached my max. I don't know how I'd find bonding time for any more!

I have 5 and that seems to be my limit. Each one needs one on one time, so any more would be pretty difficult! But I did say 4 was my limit and ended up with one more (LOL). It is so hard to resist when you see one that needs a home so badly and you know you can provide it. I really hesitated with the last one (my blue crown conure) because I didn't plan to get any more. But I have to say he has been a wonderful addition to my flock. But my flock really is complete this time! (I think lol)

I had 7 at one point, I'm now down to 3, almost went up to 4 on saturday but I'm glad I didn't (for now anyway).

I'm DONE with animals until my budgies/rabbit/gerbil pass away. I just don't have enough time, energy and money for each one without neglecting something.

One more than I have is my max occupancy ;)

i'd say probably three for me, but it depends on the cage size.

At the moment it's 1 or me, being a full time college student I have to rely on my parents for vet bills, and I buy food, toys, and anything else she needs. Once I graduate and have time plus the training to get a awesome job I feel my limit would be 3.

I would possibly like a additional Galah, I love them and I feel it would Benefit Rosie. Another bird I would like is either a Blue throat macaw or a Yellow dominant Camelot macaw, they are fantastic birds and I would love to train a macaw to free fly. I would also really like a large amazon such as a panama or blue front. You need to be aware of their body language to understand them and their vocal capacity is incredible. I would have to choose though, either a galah or amazon.

For me having more then 3 birds would be difficult, I don't feel I could give them enough attention if I had any more then that.

I thought I had a bird limit too...ONE! Now I have 6, 4 cockatiels, 1 conure, 1 pigeon and well...it's PLENTY I tell ya....

But then I thought of the most perfect names for 2 parakeets and I've been thinking of picking them out..1 male...blue...and a female...yellow...just so I can use the names ;)

I mean, isn't ANY excuse a GREAT excuse to purchase another bird or two?

But in all seriousness...I'm at my limit. I love love LOVE all my birds and they do take up a chunk of time and space. I didn't intend on acquiring so many, but I spur of the moment rescued 2 cockatiels and a month later an injured feral pigeon...THAT was what launched us to 6...I was perfectly content with 3.

After I rescued the tiels (without hubbies permission)...and they made such awesome progress...when I mentioned finding them a new home he said, "we can't get rid of them!??!!!?! Are you nuts!" and the pigeon...I NEVER had intentions of keeping him, but when he was all healed up and ready to be released. He refused to go...and hubby said..."He'll die without us.."

Yes...my husband is just as bad as I am...not good!

So please...any of you wanting to incorporate some new parakeets to your home, please pick the names...Lilo for your yellow and Stitch for your blue :) So I can have a reason why I can not, absolutely CAN NOT bring 2 parakeets home the next time I'm out and about. :D

I have 5 now. There is no limit in my world. However, we are limiting the flock in my wife's world. And hers overlaps mine. So, we are at limit. But, she's a softy, and would accept another if it needed us. Now, when I was single, and I had my own house with backyard & aviary, (plus a wildlife rehab permit), the largest my flock got to was 31 birds! I had cages in every room, cages & coops outside, plus the owls' flight cage. It was a full time job just cleaning cages! But, we were all one big happy flock! And everyone got out of cage time, proper attention, and rehabilitation. Plus, I worked a full time job. And I loved it.

right now I have 2 birds a spanish timbrado canary and a 9mo old green quaker. my hubby says we are at our limit but every time I see the picture of Quack Quack's little pineapple green cheek I start drooling on the keyboard wich is getting quite messy between that and all the cookie crumbs form my Quaker. Oh well 2 repeat 2 maybe;) Alison and sweetie pie:D

OMG my limit is definitely ONE

Imagine having 5 African Grey's, trying to train each of them to talk.
Imagine all five of them talking the way Mishka does......... 24/7
Nooooooooooooooooo never

In all seriousness, my max number would depend somewhat on the types of birds I have. If I dared to have one macaw, that would be it! My conures are considerably cheaper to house etc, and their noise is less. If I had a grey that needed constant mental engagement then I might say two. For me, this answer is somewhat dependent on the types of birds, so I say 1-4.

Considering space limitations, and the amount of quality time I'd be able to spend with each parrot, 3 would probably be my maximum. Right now, there's only one parrot in residence; someday, maybe there will be one or two more. :)

I think your limit is whatever works for you - within reason. Obviously, you don't want to be a Hoarder. I think you're at your limit for any pet when it's no longer pleasurable to take care of them, spend time with them, etc.

I could have more than 2 birds, except that I also have a dog, a tortoise, a bearded dragon, a child and we may be adding (another) corn snake at the end of the school year. And moving several states away.

I have two at the moment. I'm a godmother to another one. A friend and her family is always trying to get me to take their budgie, in a way I would love too, poor lil guy just sits in a cage all day. Then again, I'm never sure they are actually serious. Then again, I don't know if I really need another bird or if there's anywhere safe to put the cage. (My birds cages are all big/tall where critters can't reach)

I'd say more than 5 for me. I'd love in addition to Suki, a long billed Corella, a few budgies and a cockatiel or two.

I'm already over limit....they keep us VERY busy....lol....We do say NO now days though when someone tries to give us one.

i think it depends on the birds you have , most people can deal with 10 budgies but only one too or macaw - right now im at my limit with 3 (indian ringneck-greencheek conure- cockatiel), i'm 16 and have to do school and i have a job to keep up with bird costs and my pocket money from my parents and if i had another bird i wouldnt be able to give them what they needed or enough time

Well, I chose 1, because Kazi is a handful. But honestly, if my husband agreed to it, I'd take in another if it were the right bird. It'd have to be a pretty special bird though, Kazi is jealous of everything that isn't him.

I'm happy with my lot right now, the budgie's keep each other entertained so it's really only maintenence with those two, change toys, food/water/cage etc. Merlin is a bit of a handful especially during molt, but I don't think I'd mind an african grey/poi/IRN... but they'd have to be really special I think right now. I'm just too ill and we're not 100% financially stable, so. I think I'll stick!

Although if we had another larger bird then Merlin may need less one on one time... oh dear :p
