- "Chica" 15yr Female Blue and Gold Macaw
So I'm going to be renting a HUGE training room at the local dog school once a week to work with Chica & I'd like to get some input from you guys.
YES, I DO know that the most obvious thing is that I'll need to make some sort of collapsible curtain to put in front of the HUGE bay windows. I am also making a LOOOOONG T-Stand that I can use in order to get her down from tricky places if she decides to explore the heating ducts. Also, having scoped the place out there are no exposed wires (all wiring is routed through metal conduit per state building codes)... but can you think of anything else from these pictures that might be helpful?
Keep in mind, anything I come up with needs to be easy to put up/take down, can collapse small enough to fit in a station wagon, as well as of course being geared towards the training of a bird for school programs & whatnot. I plan on making some BIG hoops for her to fly through, and maybe a few different colored perches/platforms for her to fly to.
I've attached some pics to give you an idea of the space I'm working with. There's also a hose and "shower" spot in the corner.
