Tabatha is the name of my Alexandrine Parrot. She is 2 years old and her mum is Tracy! (the one writing this).

I'm Tabatha, and my mum is trying to be the best mum ever. I have a couple of toys (wooden) and I love orange and apple. But I think mum might need a little help.

What toys and treats do you all give your birdies? Please note that I live in Australia with my mum so the treats have to be available here.

any suggestions for toys or things to do?

thanks everyone!

Oh yea and his all time favorite is sunflower seeds in the husks and we've noticed that he also really likes starchy foods like boiled potatos, pasta, couscous and he also sometimes likes to chew up dry spaghetti sticks, like we give him 1 stick and he'll hold it and snap little bits off

Sunflower seeds are my favourite! My mum puts seed in my bowl and I eat all the sunflower seeds first. I sometimes pinch a chip off my mum when she has them, and I really like to eat beans and peas too! Mum hasn't given me any walnuts, but I'm sure she will now.

Now for me to go to bed, I get in my cage, I say hello to my mum and she puts the cover on me.

Nite nite.

Thank you for you flower suggestions too! I hope mum gets me some.

Hi my Alex loves crushing up dried pasta. Loves it. Also loves things like wooden beads threaded together with wood skewers like a barbell, a cereal box or smaller filled with popcorn, paper to shred, the aforementioned pasta, dried fruit and sunflower seeds, little boxes of raisins. I find if I buy toys they need to have big chunky wooden bits otherwise everything is destroyed in minutes. Leather string is another favorite. I know I shouldn't but he loves to attack things in plastic bags, he leaps on the, and literally attacks them. Gets atrophy if I take it away. Also loves Lego, although kids not so keen on this, the little Lego heads are particularly preferred. And he will Come from no where to destroy ballpoint pens. I've compromised and give him the non toxic felt pens that kids have let dry out

Oh and forgot to say those hanging stainless steel kebab things for threading fruit, loves a whole carrot or deseeded apple on those, and also a bunch of plastic drinking straws tied together provide lots of fun :)

Bannana chips are a good treat, you can get them from coles! :)
