1 green cheek conure (Kumar)
2 male budgies (Charlie and Diego)
Come on, we all have them. Those stupid, nonsensical words and phrases we use when talking to them. Mine happen to come with accents...for instance: pellets are "pelliez" In a Hispanic accent. Carrots are "Carriatsa" in a bad Italian accent. For baths, I use "Bon Douche" in the snottiest French accent I can muster. And one of my faves, oat-groats, become "Ooten Grooten" in probably the worst German accent you've ever heard. (German accents are one of my faves). But it's not about the accents. What stupid words do you use with your birds????? :)

Lol, so funny Chris :D

Everyone's 'term of endearment' nickname from me is Poo (or probably Pooh is better lol), or Pee (or perhaps I should say Pea)... :D For Robin specifically, it's Peepy, or Peepsy. My ex boyfriend's daughter once pointed out that I nicknamed my birds after 'excrement'. That gave me a good laugh.

Go to bed, bed time is one word "GoToBedBedTime."

I've always called Floofies 'hoohoo feathers' LOL... I'd better stop now before I really embarrass myself :D

No I'd never call my guys poop! LOL. But poo is funny. Not planning more birds for the forseeable future, but I swear that if I ever get another tiny species (it's cutest with tiny birds) I'll name it Pooh :D

:52:... This has inspired another thread!

I call my zon "Mister buddy" :) [and lots of silly made up songs I sing to them]

When Lilo stepped in berries blood, I say aw what happened to your lil footsie wootsie :) then she looks at me like I'm crazy... Then I say hi lilo kilo belo sneelo.... lots of fun! :D this is probably what the pets say to each other, "gosh, she might need some help! She talks to us like we are babies! I am 24 in dog years not 4!"

Oh my...

I don't really use stupid words but sometimes I'll use different tones.

OOTEN GROOTEN!!!

That might have just made my night.

Mostly I make up stupid derivations of animals' names and coo at them. So Cuzco has become Cuzyco (though that's his own fault for sometimes pronouncing his name that way), Cuzy, PinchDragon, Cuzy-Snoozy, and so on.

I also imitate pretty much all of his weird mutterings. He does these hissy giggles, says BAYBEEEEEE, mutters his name, makes kissy noises, occasionally asks "Whatcha doin", which he usually pronounces WHATCHADOO, and makes all manner of little beeps and honks and grunts and grumbles. He sounds like a Shy Guy from Mario games. And I grumble back at him and tend to repeat any of the silly things he says.

I tease him all the time about being a little dragon. He really is!

Mostly my voice just gets really high pitched and silly and annoying. :I

Ooten Grooten, I love it hahaha!

I call treats yummy for Rosie, and for Kenji it's yummers. although Rosie and kenji both know either word. Started that as "treat" would get the dogs excited haha

I coo to my Sun and call him, "Sunny Bunny" because he's sweet and cute like a bunny.

My husband says that it sounds really creepy. He swears that if I die before him, he's afraid that he will be sitting in the dark one night and suddenly he will hear "Sunny Bunny!" and know that I've returned to haunt him. ;)

I am terrible about rhyming...Phoenix is Phoedle Beedle, Xander Bander, Ekko McBekko...I also make up stupid songs that I sing to them that include their names.

We just say treat because the dogs are not down here where the birds are, but did stop saying treats in front of the dogs. We started spelling it, and they figured that out, so now we say "you know whats". I have no idea what we will go to after they figure that out...:(

Ok, knowing I'm not the only one to make up songs, I'll share PB's rap song. Remember, this has to be sung with full rap-tude.

PB, Pretty Bird.
I'm pretty. I'm a birdy.
I'm pretty. I'm a birdy.
[Repeat once more]
Bird to your mother. [Insert kissy noises]

LMAO!!!! I love it! We do a little hip-hop here also (I'm from Detroit after all), especially with our bath-time song/dance, and yum-yum dance :):):) (for yucky veggies which I have to convince are super fun and awesome! Hahaha!

uh-oh, now you've got me thinking the "Soft kitty" song from "Big Bang Theory"....

I always reply to her "hello!" with "hello, darling" and "How're you going? Going good?"

I always say to her "gissa kiss"

I don't say a lot of stupid words with her, not as many as I did with my princess dog, I'm kept occupied with "no biting!"
